I need new cyclo cross tyres for my CAADX. Any recommendations? Have Sammy Slick on it now but non stop punctures point to them being terrible, I need something more durable.

The road bike has gatorskins on it as they seem to be the only thing tough enough for the roads around here and need to replicate that on the caad.

60 road 30 dirt / gravel track / 10 muck & off road is about the split so not aiming for mud tyres.

something like this considering the price a good option you reckon?

Semi-slick again is what I went for. I agree, the sammy slicks seem prone to punctures.

I have Marathon Supremes on for the summer which handle most things apart from mud, and offer great puncture protection without the weight of other marathons. For off road in wet weather, I've been using Schwalbe CX comp tyres which are ok on the road, decent in mud, but not particularly puncture proof. For icy weather I've also got a set of Schwalbe studs which are heavy, noisy, slow on the road, but absolutely bomb proof for pretty much anything.

I reckon tyres are always going to be a compromise when you're mixing on and off road. While I'm not that knowledgeable I guess something with a flatter profile in the middle and knobbly at the edges is going to be a decent mix, something like these

    Jaysus, that's why I love boards 😉

I don't have a clue but I'm going to recommend something anyways #classic

Here was my thinking this was a discussion board, where people y'know discuss stuff. Putting something out there and qualifying it as speculative should generate discussion, but as you say, this being boards it attracts random slagging instead

It's a shame that boards doesn't allow medical advice. That'd be awesome!
