What are these people clogging up tinder for?

I joined tinder and bought a month subscription and started swiping.
There were a lot of very attractive women so I was swiping right quite a bit and then I got a few matches.
    Happy days?
These women want to meet up for a nice date or casual sex or they want a boyfriend or meet prince charming and ultimately marry the man of their dreams?
    Right?
    Wrong!
Once you get past the "Hi any craic?" "Where are you from?" etc and then start having a conversation and try to move things along to meeting up it starts getting weird.
These women say they don't meet strangers on social media and they find it "creepy" that you would ask them out!
    Tinder is a DATING app!
What are these people going on tinder if they don't want to get together?
    Are they insane?
I did date one or two women and had some fun but tinder seems infested with idiots who seem to be okay with likes and then get annoyed when you actually use the app for what it was designed - ask them out!
    The mind boggles!
    It really does! :)
You have to literally wade through all these people who are on a dating app but not interested in actually dating before you meet the women who do!
Imagine you went to a restaurant to get a meal or a drink but all the tables were full but none of the people clogging the tables were there to have any food and the owners couldn't kick them out?
That is exactly what tinder is like!

Just an idea, but maybe they just didn't want to go on a date with you? You're not going to get everyone who swipes!

Its an ego trip for some, to see how many matches they can get.

If you are not interested don't swipe!

    It's that simple.

Not really relevant. He's talking about when they say they don't meet people through social media and think it's creepy to be asked out through Tinder - yet that's the whole purpose of Tinder so what are they doing there in the first place?

As Mint Sauce says, it's probably just an ego trip for them to set up a profile and get likes.

Tinder didn't ignite with your spark.

If they swipe they are supposed to be interested but then they get upset when a guy gets the wrong idea?

If she doesn't want unwanted attention then don't swipe me back!

There's loads that swipe right on everyone just to see how many matches they get and sit there giggling to themselves thinking "look how many people want to fcuk me" but have no intention of meeting anyone off it. Both men and women do it, lots of girls mention it when I'm chatting to them that they get a lot of of the same.

The latest update apparently stops showing your profile to people if you swipe right on everyone as it assumes your a bot or what Tinder have called "the indiscrimate narcissist"

Yep. They're notoriously contradictory like that.

I'll be in hiding if anyones looking for me.

You're right it's bollocks.I met my missus off tinder when I was at the end of my patience with it.I think there's a lot of time wasters on it!women who want to be complemented etc.best bet is to give your phone number quickly and to move away from tinder and start texting.it sorts the messers out fairly quickly

What is the point of that if they don't actually fcuk any of them?

It reminds of that scene in a Ricky Gervais show Extras where Ben Stiller sends himself up by saying he kissed Cameron Diaz and Gervais responds that it wasn't real because There's Something About Mary is just a movie. Stiller walks off fuming that it "still counts!"

I can't get my head around why someone would join a dating app just to refuse to date anyone and then get annoyed when people using the app for the purpose it is intended respond by agreeing to go on a date with them!

Well its full of microtransactions now. You only get a certain amount of likes per day.

Women, men, etc, like to be wooed OP. Maybe don't rush it into.

I reached level 106 when I played it, which I hear is a record.

    Then angry birds took over.

Which is what I call my wife and my mistress

What are your conversations like? Do you actually chat to them for a while before asking them out, or jump straight to proposing a date.

Swiping right on someone isn't necessarily an indication that they're willing to date you. Some of us women actually like to get to know someone a little bit first. I might like the look of you, but if you can't string two words together or make me laugh, forget about it.

Also, there are loads of weirdos on internet dating site, so the get-me-the-f**k-outta-here metre is normally set to hairtrigger sensitivity for internet dating (moreso than it might be in a pub/nightclub). So phrasing something in a slightly creepy way (even if you don't mean to, or don't realise you're doing it) might be enough to send them running for the hills.

Having said all that, sure there are timewasters on Tinder, and people who aren't 100% rational too. Just like there are girls in pubs who just want to get you to buy them drinks with no intention of anything more.

I just spoke to the girls on tinder, op. They reckon you look a little rapey.

The whole purpose of tinder is to remove any ambiguity.

A person joins tinder to date.

By swiping right who the girl is supposed to be interested and wants to meet up.
    End of.

Instead if she swipes right and wastes her time and his talking and then gets annoyed when he asks her out she can't justifiably be surprised.

If she doesn't want any unwanted attention or conversation then don't swipe right.

At least the women in the pubs who pretend to be interested get something out of pretending to be interested - a free drink.

The women who swipe right on tinder - get nothing.

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

People are complicated. They are vain and like to be complimented, liked, whatever.

one thing i have noticed with it,women will never message you first on it when you match, they still like to sit in that seat of power of rejecting you if you send the first message.

So if I look rapey why swipe right and then have a conversation at all then?

If they are not interested at all then don't swipe back.

So they join a dating app for the sole purpose of swiping right and rejecting guys on purpose? Utterly bizarre.

I don't bother with Tinder and swiping. I prefer Pornhub and tugging
