**** happens. Same way as a well used road needs a bit of repair or filling once in a while.

Cheers. I was just wondering because there has been chats here about the runway condition.

Slow descent from high level just south of MAN, odd scenario.

Turkish 737 seems to be heading into the hold at man while the easy jet makes an approach.

Edit. Ryanair in the hold too

Seems to be sitting on the Tarmac, must be waiting an inspection from fire. Explains why the others are holding.

Nevermind they're approaching now. I can't type fast enough for this carry on ha.

Away from Shannon is VLM F50 OO-VLF. Charter for the Munster v Leicester match I'd say. Why they just didn't stay the night and go on the lash in limerick I dont know...!

    Why is it a struggle?

They were meant to stay the duration but aircraft was needed elsewhere yesterday morning.

Saw a picture of an ATC scope, it showed two aircraft, one at FL598 and the other at FL896.

Strangely enough they were squawking, but the ATC unit had no idea who they were, any ideas as to what aircraft can operate at 90,000 feet?

The U-2 is the only aircraft that can get up 90000feet

EI911 holding at Knock due to fog.

With today's fresh easterly wind it means that RWY09 is in use, which doesn't have ILS.

Edit: The inbound Flybe seems to be thinking of using RWY 27 if vis goes above 300m.

I'd say the Flybe will do the same.

Never know, there's a trend of 2000m vis, so an improvement is possible.

The Flybe needs 300m visibility before it can make an approach, 150m now.

A Let heading from The Isle Of Man to Belfast. I wonder what the story was with it before, judging by the photo. Or maybe it's another Let in the photo?

That's what he said alright, which is confusing me as I'm sure it's 300m of Runway Visual Range (RVR's) that he needs, (In touchdown Zone) current RVR's are Touchdown: 250m
    Midpoint: 275m
    Stipend 350m

    That's a bit disturbing alright.

Pictures are matched up with their reg numbers, so either

1). The aircraft has the wrong reg listed on FR24
2). That aircraft was fixed and is back in service
    3). It's the wrong photo

Also unusual is the name Manx2.com, which I thought didn't exist after the Cork Airport crash.

Fog now showing 100m at 14:30 and an RVR of 200m on RWY27.

No improvement expected in the next few hours, will be interesting to see if it has improved by the time the evening Stansted is inbound.

BE663 diverting to Shannon now too

Flightradar's greatly accurate listings have listed EI911 as landed, despite it having diverted.

    Knock

    VOR 09 RVR required 1500 M

    ILS 27 RVR required 750M
    ILS 27 CAT 2 RVR required 300M

With the present wind at 130/11 kts, they either accept the ILS with a tailwind or use 09. I don't know their tailwind limits for CAT2, they might be lower than normal.

Santa flights from SNN currently running with an hour delay, and I think an earlier one was cancelled.
