My daughter :-) She has saved me from sinking into depression+ helped me find the strength to battle cancer. I won't give up on her without a good fight. :-)

Then again, there are days when all I want is a quiet cuppa without her looking for a bottle or a nappy change. Just to finish one coffee while it's hot would be bliss! But she's worth it all .

Seeing the world through your child's eyes,All those things you'd become jaded by and no longer noticed all seem new again.
Sport. None of this spectating, getting out there and win, lose or draw putting your heart and soul into competition.
    Unexpected Kindness from a stranger.
When you hear a song you loved a long time ago and had forgotten.
The Tiredness you get after hard physical work.

Watching sunsets out far wesht in mid summer that go on until midnight. Walking, sitting on beaches, jumping off boats into a warm sea (not Ireland). Good live music in a pub. Travelling to new places and going back to the old ones. My family, friends and my doggy! Woof.

A bloody good gig where your jaw hits the floor and you never want it to end.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Sitting down and looking back over a physical job you've just completed.

My grass takes almost 2 hours to cut with a self propelled mower. There's a great satisfaction putting the mower into the shed and then looking back over the work done.

Watching the excitement of both dogs as they arrive on the local beach. This excitement is only bettered when I take off their leads if no one is on it.

A long walk on the beach as the sun is rising or the same walk on a windy wild day all wrapped up and warm clinging to my wife.

A gallop through a stubble field on a horse on a crisp November morning.

A glass of good wine in front of a roaring fire.

The odd occasions where the whole family is under one roof, and getting on!

A quiet house, a pot of tea, chocolate Hobnobs and a good book. Bonus points if it's raining outside. And the certainty (or as near to it as possible) that no cunt'll bother me.

First thing that came to mind for me was candles and wine but then I read this and felt guilty for not thinking of my daughter :pac:

Candles and wine while my lovely slumbering princess is in bed :D
