The rad developed a pin hole in it but i think that's cos the steam pressure done it!

I'm rebuilding it with low compression in mind ;)

Limerick-Cork-Waterford-Wexford-Tipp-Limerick done today. Nothing out of the ordinary when I'm on call but I am rightly fcuked if we get snow like winters past. Some horrible roads on that drive.

Just getting the RX home from the office was a challenge.

    Navan road was solid traffic.
    River road was well named....

Ende up having to drive through two floods to get it home, up to the belly. The amount of ****ing steam boiling off it was something fierce but it took it. No catalyst to **** or anything so just drive and go. Like a monster from the deep with steam rising off the oil coolers.

This car can do everythig. The only thing it can't do is pass a petrol station

I was watching a how to rebuild a 20b rotary last night. Hopefully yours got off lightly.

"Niamh Loves Shane" on the back window of my car :) Sophie wrote her name, too.

    I knew I was in there! :D

(Only problem is I have no idea who either of them are!:( )

And now I am reminded that I need to clean my car :o

Just did the most manly thing ever.

Drove to petrol station to brim my straight piped V8 buy some beer and a bone for my dog while making a racket. (may have farted into my recaros but all I could smell was petrol and all I could hear was fossil fuels being guzzled)

    /wipes away tear

Wasn't over what the ower's manual says it could do... It just trapped some water on a plastic undertray. Engine-wise, it's finicky about fuel but otherwise appears solid.

This is a car than can literally do everything.
I've hooned it around Mondello in the pissings of rain
I've driven it to building sites with tools in the boot.
I've taken it on hour's long drives in comfort
And it's taken me home in the worst of weather in warmth and comfort without any complaint.

The only thing it can't do is passa petrol station.

Currently waiting to board a Ryanair flight from stanstead that's due to take off in 4 mins

Two things I'll never understand is
    1. Why people pay extra to get onto a cramped airplane first
    2. Why people stand in a queue for 25 minutes plus to get onto a cramped airplane before me

I'd Much prefer to sit on my ass using the free WiFi and laugh silently to myself at the stupidity of people

Today I saw some of the worst displays of motoring ive seen in a long time. Weather was crap, visibility was low and still some dick in an A4 tdi decided to undertake me on the M50 at a rate of knots. Less than 20 seconds later he was involved in a 4 car pile up! Not saying he caused it because I didn't see the initial impacts, but I'm pretty sure he was at least 50% responsible.

Anyone hear of a car being limited. Someone I know of got a car and found out that it's limited to 130km/h? Company car maybe?

    Unassigned seating?

The one that annoys me is everybody clamouring over each other to stand in the aisle after landing, air bridge nowhere near the plane, and they'll be standing waiting in baggage for at least 15 mins wishing they had somewhere to sit down.....

Japanese domestic cars are limited, IIRC.

    This is a b6 passat

Is it actually limited or is the speed warning on the trip set and it's pinging when they reach that speed all VW have that it can be turned off. I done it for someone on a golf recently it had been set to 125kmh.

Pin physically won't go past 130km from what I understand.

Hal, is there a cover on top of your air filter, or is it exposed once the tray under the window is removed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,719 ✭✭✭Hal1

Nope, it's exposed. If yours is lifting then you need to clean the edge of it were it meets the window.
Then get some weather proof sealant like tech7 and a brick to weigh it down so it bonds correctly.
I ran into loads of hassle with my own but luckily it never leaked.

Ya, the thing is soaking. Tried drying it out, but it's not working, will just get a new one Monday. Result is that all the windows are fogged up, such a prick to drive. Looks like sealant was used before, but I'll buy some more.

Is it the actual engine air filter your referring to or cabin air (pollen) filter ? Tec 7 is great stuff the surface doesn't even have to be dry for it to work.
