OK, the fight tonight is a big sporting event so we've decided to allow a thread on it after receiving some requests. The same as we do for the Euros, WC, Rugby WC, etc. Please read the mod note below.

    Mod note:

    1) Usual After Hours charter still applies

    2) No allegations against fighters, particularly regarding steroid usage, etc

    3) No illegal streams or requests for streams

    4) No talking about Conor's accent. It's boring and has been done to death

    5) No fighter bashing. Opinions welcome, bashing not

    6) No eye gouging, fish-hooking or small joint manipulation. Groin shots are frowned upon

Thanks to Nicolas Cage for drawing them up.

I'll be napping between 12-3am so go easy!!

Also, Conor will be fighting sometime from 5am. Prelims begin at 12am, main card from 3am. For more info, see this post

Have McGregor @ 7/4 to win by KO, TKO or DQ.

I'll most likely fall asleep waiting for it to start though.

If I do, someone PM me and wake me up. Cheers.

I hope Aldo knocks him out with a nice hard knee to the face :)

Nah. The vast majority of normal people want to see their fellow Irish compatriots do well.

I doubt it, though McGregor losing would seem to be the most probable outcome, punchers chance excepted.

No self loathing at all. Just find the posturing and such insufferable. Aldo probably isn't any better but I've heard and seen less of him. I think McGregor has been positioned as interim champion to exploit publicity and draw in Irish supporters. It's a cynical game: maybe he has to run his mouth off to pay his dues to the powers that be but I'm sick of him.

Nah. The vast majority of normal people (normal people meaning people who think about things the way I do) want to see their fellow Irish compatriots do well.

FYP. If it was an international competition most people probably would support someone representing the country regardless of how they thought about them. This isn't an international competition. It's a match between two pros.

Aldo all the way hopefully. There's nothing more enjoyable than seeing a mouthy sh!t being put in their place no matter what country they come from.

    S'up Chael Sonnen?

I hope Aldridge knocks his D4 head off.

The heart says McGregor but the head says Aldo. Should be an amazing fight regardless.

Agreed, the guy is arrogant motormouth who needs to be knocked down a peg or 2. If McGregor was an English UFC fighter, I can confidently say that the majority of people on here wouldn't be able to stand him.

Hopefully it lasts a bit longer than Mendes & Frankie did last night. Would love to see this go the distance and be a proper war!

Crumlin is D4 now? Are you an estate agent?

If it wasn't for him posturing and "running his mouth" he never would have been given the chances that he was.

Many fighters down the years have adopted the same approach in an attempt to get the media to put pressure on a successful fighter to fight and up and coming one.

He had a goal, went for it and has become what he has, primarily as a result of hard work and good on him for that.

    Hope he wins tonight.

The team that scores the most goals will win.

Ya and I posted why I thought the mouth was done too. I don't resent him the bit of success he has had, sport for me is about finding out the limits of abilities and character and planning: he acts like he is the greatest fighter the world has ever seen. Let's find out.

I don't particularly like that show about the Kardashians and I've figured out an amazing method of not letting it annoy me. I don't watch it.

    Get a life.

By the logic here if she was Irish you're obliged to support her or be considered abnormal.

Your insult game hasn't sunk as low as McGregor I'll give you that much.

It's pretty rare that someone can talk the talk and then walk the walk and McGregor has done it with aplomb so far. Like any sportsman or woman that competes under an Irish flag, McGregor will always have my full support.
