    Company I work in used to give an extra months salary at x-mas to all staff as a bonus. Twas great until the recession hit then 15 years of custom died. :(

    I've told this one on here before (probably last year) but two friends of mine worked at Virgin Megastore for a few years nearly 20 years ago. The bonus was always very poor, but one year they were given a signed copy of Richard Branson's autobiography as their Christmas bonus.

    Beat that!

    Edit: I just did a quick google to fact check the above, and found further evidence of the sheer stinginess of it. A guy recounts how the copies of the book had no bar code on the back so they could not be returned for cash.

    Never got a Christmas bonus/gift or anything of the kind. Haven't even had a payrise since 2008 due to recession :(
