Your responses are not intelligent enough to be worth my time anymore.

Wow. You really are up your own hole.
You got it wrong when you tried to say I was writing off Carrick and now you are wriggling out of it with your "semantics" catchphrase and throwing insults around.
    Well done.

Not what I'm reading above...there were chances in the game yes? And they were squandered yes? Tbh I don't give a **** who missed them they were still missed. My point stands we don't have a world class finisher anymore. Rooneys form isn't recovering and all that's left is potential
If pro f thinks I'm jumping to specifically blame a individual player that's not what I'm getting at. Discussed this with buckety during the week already so I'm not going to repeat what I said

Your the one who specified Lingard, your basically arguing with your self at this point.

I don't think we we lack quality up front but we clearly don'y create enough quality chances and that's down to the manager.

    We had 21 shots today!

United should be striving for a much, MUCH higher level of manager.

That's what they did this time and see where it got them.

Have a look at Stoke's game from today, different planet to us.

But my point is a mute one as there is no way he would be considered. Besides Gaurdiola and Ancelotti who I would go for if available I think Hughes would be a really good option. Way ahead imo of what we have now and a not too dissimilar pedigree to Ferguson when he came.

Anyway just my thoughts I don't expect too many united fans to agree with me.

I'm up my own hole because I don't want to debate the definition of the phrasal verb "write off". Whatever you say champ.

I get your point, you think that we don't have any world class finishers. That's not a point that I'm interested in debating.

But that doesn't make your criticism of a player's performance in a game you didn't watch any less ridiculous.

I read that lindgard missed chances. It's suddenly ridiculous? You're entitled to an opinion.

He's missed a hell of a lot of chances in the last few weeks and I have watched every one of them in frustration except today obviously so to hear the same again...2+2 is 4

And anyway I'm not interested in debating lindgard either but he happens to be one of the collection of players not doing what they should be doing and thats the only reason I mentioned him individually.

Getting the ball in the goal when chances present themselves and this is where we are seriously lacking

Potential is potential not title winning

If Martial could finish United would have beaten both West Ham today, and PSV.
Things would be looking very different.

However Lingard, Mata, Fellaini, Schweinsteiger and McNair all had chances today where at the very least you'd expect would be a clean strike and shot on target.

We may have created enough today, but that would probably be the first time this season. Up to this point the problem has categorically not been a finishing one.

Im sick of watching this team.
Would like to see him sacked. Its just not entertaining anymore.

When do UTD ever boo their own team?
He persists with this style and its a load of bollix.

You vastly overestimate the number and quality of chances he has been missing.

Was a very good game actually in terms of entertainment.

Your vastly underate the chances that were missed so we're at an impass I'm afraid

At least were getting closer to what I actually wanted to discuss ;)

Without wading in to the current argument ye have going, we had more then 2 or 3 good chances today.

Tone back the argument please from a personal level. Several posters on both sides are pushing the line here towards being uncivil and abusive. Cards will follow if it continues.

They definitely upped it from previous weeks.
They played at faster pace, everything from goal kicks to corners seemed to be taken quickly , fast ball was played forward, the full backs were constantly on the attack and more men were getting into the box.
They left it a bit more open at the back too.

    Just couldn't finish.

I dissagree. How many times were West Ham opened up as opposed to scrappy opportunities from corners or Martial brute forcing his way into decent positions ?

Martial, Fellaini, Mata had the only clear cut ones I can remember that came from good united play.

Martial x 2, Fellaini x 2 and Mata would already give you 5....

Smalling had a shot blocked from close range too. There was loads of chances, West Ham defended really well in the box and some just wouldn't go in.

I think we should strive for a bit better but okay..

At least today we saw some nice interplay around their 18 yard area and players finding space, made a change from seeing the ball played up to Rooney and being lost.
In reflection,on another day we'd have scored 3 or 4 but in the end it's still another 0-0 and there was a serious lack of urgency a lot of times in our play.

Am I the only one sick of hearing the "Attack" chants. I know people argue they're trying to create urgency or get a point to the staff but I see it as rather pointless and embarrassing at times (more so than the football).

Team is trying to attack too, might try something more accurate like "Score!Score!Score" next time and that will help :P.
