TA that I saw a nice pair of memory-foam Skechers...

And they're another shower of bastards. The way they treat their own, decent hard-working truck-drivers and warehouse operatives is criminal. Oi, Skechers! The Goose sez - cool it, or I'll cool you!:mad::mad:

Posts remind me of another TA which is my family's (and seemingly everyone's) need to try to challenge my decision to go meat free...

Go easy on the old giffer, chief. He probably remembers a time when getting enough to eat was something of an achievement, and to get some meat to eat a moral victory of it's time. :D

That puts me in a right righteous temper, actually. I believe the next time some knobjockey shows me his iPhone 6 I'll pull out my old Petersen Vise-Grip, lock it on and make flitters of it. Oooooh yeah! As the fella said, they don't make that in the god-dam Yabba Dabba.

And this is the consequence of the US, and us, wanting cheap crap. Boils my blood.

It's amazed me that more people aren't a bit more curious as to how the fcuk some clothes are so cheap.
So the next time someone asks how Penny's etc sell tshirt said at €2 a pop, now you can tell them.

For a bit of perspective, I bought my first TV before some of you guys were born (yes, hard to believe, I know:D) and it was in excess of £700, for a pretty much standard tv. I bought a pretty good 42in flat screen thing with HD blah blah last year for less than €500. Someone, somewhere is getting shafted.

Like that. I remember when you'd get a good used Mk II Escort for the price of a big-ish Nordmende or Telefunken. Not so long back I got a 22'' Samsung 1080p LED with all the trimmings for €170. For nothing.

Is it unique to cheap clothes though?

I was in a 25 minute meeting today.

    1. The only word I spoke was 'Cheers'
    2. There was no need for the meeting.
    3. The guy sitting accross from me was smelling his left hand for 23 minutes
    4. The guy sitting accross from me was smelling his right hand for 2 minutes

Only Salt n Vinegar or Cheese n Onion crisps left in the vending machine in the canteen.
I was going to mention a vending machine-related trivial annoyance. If you put in a €1 or €2 coin, it'll give the impression that you haven't put in enough money. The refund comes back in 50c coins, so that's sorted. Just use that.

Another way around it is to put any coin in with your €1 or €2 coin and it will accept it. Except...when I was thinking about posting this as I was using the machine. I put in €2 and 10c for a €1.10 item. It gave me the correct change...but no bar! It didn't even budge!

    "BOO-URNS!!!" sez I.

I complained to the vending machine company when that happened to me. And a couple of weeks later when the guy came round to restock, I got two free bars :)

Manager at DPD assured me the parcel would arrive today. About ten minutes after our phone call I received an email saying it would be today "or maybe tomorrow depending on volume" - blows gaaaaaaaskeeeeeeet!!!!!!!

Call him back and ask wtf is going on and he assures me that yes, it will be today.

    Why the conflicting information.

Plus I'm nervously checking the tracker which says it is still in the depot.

And to add to the annoyance of the whole thing is every time I get through (usually on the 26th attempt), I am asked the same questions - what is your consignment number (which I now know off by heart) and who were you last speaking to? How in the name of all that's good and holy am I supposed to remember everyone I speak to?

Twitching here at my desk with anticipation and annoyance...

I've to pick up a book at the library. I just KNOW the courier will call while I am in there and I wont be able to answer. I would bet my life on it.

Small talk at the work kitchen sink and general getting in each other's way and awkward side shuffling and standing with one arm as long as the other.

It's obvious that people don't actually read updates on LinkedIn properly. I updated my job title to essentially say yada yada job title at Currently seeking new opportunities, so that I can connect with recruiters easier.

I've now had around 10 people "liking" my new job update, despite my not actually having a new job.

I'm noticing a lot of your day-to-day irritations stem ultimately from transport issues. Buy that comfy old Mercedes off yer oul' lad. ;)

I do then crossword in the paper most days, sometimes I can complete it, but more times I don't. Yesterday was a good day all done bar one. Seven down, I have a couple of letter, but didn't really understand the clue. I went thru words in my head until I found one that fit, that I kind of knew what it meant It seemed a reasonable guess. Checked the answers today and it was correct, but now I forget the clue so I am still not 100% on the definition!

I hate when people say "For all intensive purposes" instead of "For all intents and purposes". I'm expecting him to say "pacifically" next...
