As my Grandfather would say, I'm so hungry that I could eat a small child through the bars of a cot!

I really wanted basmati rice with my dinner but I only have long grain.

I'm TA'd that I had stew & it would annoy Colser by me posting this fact, but going to do it anyway

Shopping for my nieces and nephews Christmas presents online at the moment, and almost nothing is In Stock in any Argos stores! It's infuriating! Seriously, it's as if every single one of their stores is completely out of toys at the moment!

Im more or less veggie tbh more due to the fact that I dont like meat rather than any other reason but I try to get my teen-baby to eat meat and even his teeth were challenged today:pac:

My adult-baby got a parking fine yesterday (Sunday in a loading bay?) so Colser will query that tomorrow.honestly when do they learn? "I park there every Sunday "isnt really going to cut it.

Stools in busy pubs.......and people sitting on them blocking up the bar. It's a real Irish thing. You'd never see it in the UK. Very annoying trying to get served

TA that I saw a nice pair of memory-foam Skechers on the Schuh website earlier reduced by about 35%... I'd had my eye on them for ages. But I had stuff to do so said I'd treat myself tonight after I'd done everything else. Just went onto the website there - of course I forgot that it was the Cyber Monday sale, so everything went back to full price at midnight :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: ksdgskfjgbkdfuhgisldgn stupid American tradition - now I'll probably have to wait until the Stephens Day sales, but I wanted to wear them before that as I have no comfortable shoes atm :(:(

TA at the fuss & panic people create over Black Friday sales. People in U.S. coming to blows over items in shops.

I'm not too fussed on meat either and I like doing veggie stir frys and pasta bakes but anytime I cook one and say to my OH, "what did you think?", he says "ye it's lovely, where's the meat?"

When OH and I first got together,we were aged like 19/20, we lived with my parents for a while. It just so happens on the exact same day my OH moved in that my brother was moving out. My brother stopped by for dinner that day and was disgusted after comparing OH dinner and his own and saying to my mam "eh you gave him more dinner than me" :)

DPD bullshíte starts again today.... on hold listening to Adele's "This is the end" - how very fitting. Beyond TA.....

Also TA when you get up and leave the house early and wind up not getting a seat whereas when you're late you always get one :(

Looking in the mirror and I really don't like what I see.

Had a long rant, but fcuk it.

Back on the smokes, fcuking hate the damm things, but they're about all that keeps me sane.

Posts remind me of another TA which is my family's (and seemingly everyone's) need to try to challenge my decision to go meat free. I'm sick to death of snarky quips from my Dad like, "it's nice, if you like that sort of thing" or "maybe eat the packaging, it might be tastier" or "yeah not bad, just needs a sprinkle of beef" - like fck off right? I don't question you on your decisions, don't question me on mine! So many jokes about vegetarians making being smug and telling everyone they can about their choices but the reality is, it's always the meat eaters who start it - jokes and jibes about tree hugging and vitamin deficiencies. And my Dad wants to go out of his way to assure me that he doesn't feel guilty about eating flesh...andI want to go out of my way to assure him that I don't give a fúck. Also TA is the sympathy from my mum - "oh you can't have this, you can't have that" - I can, I just choose not to. For me it's a matter of social justice, not charity.

    * I must thank whoever made the comment about vegans on horses in here before because it came in handy a while back with my Dad.

"Do you not want a sprinkle of mince on that?"
"No thanks, I don't eat sentient beings"
"Careful up there on that high horse"
    "I'm vegetarian, I wouldn't even be on a horse"

    That shut him up!

Its great the the recession is over.
Its great that so many more people have jobs.
Its great that there is more money around and people can buy cars again.

But its not great that we dont have decent roads to support all the extra traffic. My 20-25 minute drive to work is now consistently 50-60 minutes.
Hopefully this time around the government will spend their windfall wisely on infrastructure. But I suspect it will just be spent giving money away to buy votes.

Opposite threads. Someone comes up with a decent thread then the unimaginative attention starved dregs of the forum race to see who can post the opposite thread.

This. All that power, all that know-how, all that pure Jaysis old-fashioned gumption that gave us the Flathead V8, the Saturn V rocket, the PC-AT, the Petersen Vise-Grip, the Single-Action Army .45, and an ocean more. Clambering over each other to buy shít, made in a shíthole, at their expense, while being guffawed at by little short of criminals. It's a shame, so it is. A god-damnable shame.

And this is the consequence of the US, and us, wanting cheap crap. Boils my blood.

I fcukan HATE that. Is the likes of this really necessary, in 2015??:mad::mad:

This is largely why I stay away from most of the consumerism crap.

Compare and contrast - I used to work in a setup like this:
