Car insurance

    Hi I'm not sure if this is posted in the right forum. I just need someone's advice. I bought a car 8 months ago but didn't need it straight away so I didn't get it insured. Anyways I need it for January so i found a good insurance quote and wanted to get it but they wouldn't insure me because the car hasn't been insured for more than 6 months. So I was going to change the ownership of the car into my dads name and then 'sell it back to me' so that the ownership date is different, I can't think of any other way around this and advice?
