Switzerland are on the list, despite having zero involvement with ISIS or those fighting them. Hence your point has no validity.

They key point in the article is that the prophet claimed that there would be 80 enemies fighting Islam. They're going to really need to flesh out that list to make the prophecy come true!

What these lads need is a good auld Irish breakfast with Dennys rashers, clonakilty black pudding, good homemade soda bread and superquinn sausages knocked back with a cup of Barrys finest tea followed by a bottle of Guinness. Once they have that they won't be worrying about us as the enemy but as feckn legends. They'll be hard pressed to find a good looking virgin though!

But why are the likes of Finland, Albania, Lithuania, etc on the list? Yes theyre European but what have they actually done to hack off ISIS?

Albania has been a very important partner in terms of arms shipments to rebels in Syria.

Any picture you will see from the conflict shows Soviet/Russian weaponry.

They don't have much of and don't really like the more fragile western weapons.... Albania was able to donate huge quantities of ammunition to feed those thousands of kalashnikovs.

As for the Finns, I don't know.... perhaps they are (like Ireland) part of the NATO peripheal "partnership for peace"?
But I doubt IS really give a damn.

I wouldn't really read too much into their list. They're a bunch of deluded nutjobs.

Too much fear of this bunch of lunatics. Was it James Connolly or La Passionara who used to say "better to die on your feet than to live on your knees". Too much fear. Fcuk them and all who support them or defend them.

I'm more concerned that Newstalk feel that they have to point out the location of the Irish flag in the table to Irish people, like we wouldn't be able to recognise it.
In it (around 2.57 minutes in), the narrator talks of a "coalition of devils" made up of Iran, Turkey, the United States and Russia, but adds that there is a "global coalition" of enemies against IS. At that stage, the video displays a number of flags, including that of Ireland, which sits next to Germany's on the second row in the table.

The funniest thing is comments on FB depicting the RA like some angels of Ireland that will descend to defend the sacred land should any ISIS boys land on our shores.

    Really?
    Wow....

These are all terrible generalisations I realise-I dont claim to know anything about politics, just a clueless numpty whos a little confused :o

Basically they see this modern war as a continuation of the historic battles that actually pre-date the Crusades, going as far back as the 8th century.

The Frankish Leader Charlemagne rallied up Europe in defense of the Islamic Conquest of Europe that had spread into France undefeated -- he used Christianity as a tool to unit many former Roman territories and drove the armies out of France and even temporarily out of Barcelona. So Christianity is seen as the religion which united against Islam and robbed them of 'civilising' Western Europe in the eyes of these Jihadists.

Then of course there were the latter Crusades in the Middle East. Most if not all Christian countries had some participants. France and England were Crusader strongholds so they're the primary targets on top of the recent colonization in the Middle East & North Africa.

I'm not sure how many Irish knights fought in those ancient battles but there are crusaders buried beneath St. Michan's Cathedral in Dublin so some did. It's 'justice' for historical transgressions apparently.

Most join ISIS because of recent invasions of the Middle East but those who formed it are insisting on restoring ancient borders and then expanding beyond that.

Like I know ISIS have this "if youre not with us youre against us mentality" however, as far as Im aware, no South American flags appeared on the list and the majority of south america is not Muslim, there are apparently 4 million muslims on the entire continent (approximately 0.01%), so I cant imagine it being full of Islamic extremists/terrorists. TBH there are reasons whilst we are a "neutral" country we are on the list-we let US planes land and refuel in Shannon. Therefore were probably perceived as an ally to the US. Where as South America may not support ISIS but seems to have flown under the radar.

But why are the likes of Finland, Albania, Lithuania, etc on the list? Yes theyre European but what have they actually done to hack off ISIS? Ireland has taken action which I guess is perceived as "a threat to ISIS" so our idea of being a "little old country in the backarse of nowhere, we never did nothing to no one" attitude doesnt quite wash with ISIS, but Im confused as to what these other small (yes I know Finland isnt small but on terms of global influence its hardly up there) unassuming countries have done, because as I said, south america has flown under the radar even tho they are not with "ISIS" as persay, theyve managed to avoid making "the list"

These are all terrible generalisations I realise-I dont claim to know anything about politics, just a clueless numpty whos a little confused :o

You dont have to do anything to offend isis sh1tes, they just hate all none muslims..

It's no surprise ireland is on the list.
