Anyone recommend a good filter coffee machine?

I'm open to correct on this, but I think two brands are approved by the European Coffee Association for brewing filter at the correct temperature. One is Technivorm (Dutch) which I think would be outside your budget. The other is Melitta. I have a Melitta and can't recommend it highly enough. I have the older version of the link below, which I bought through Coffee Angel. Even the customer care is superb. I broke the lid off the pot, a quick email to their customer services team in the US was redirected to their German office, whom sent me out one for free.

Mine is over three years old and it used daily. I can't recomment it highly enough.

It looks ok, but based on my own use of other filter makers, I think you get what you pay for. If you can afford it, I'd really recommend the one I mentioned
