Parking Permit in Dublin - what to do while waiting?

    Hi guys,

Obviously to apply for the parking permit I need proof of address x 2, reg book, insurance details etc – all fine.

My query is that I’m moving into a house next Tuesday (1st Dec). To get those change of address forms I can only apply for them on the 30th Nov/1st Dec so I’m there when they are posted.

They would take a few days to come back to me, especially the reg book for the car. So let’s say over that 1st wk I’m there – is there some sort of temporary pass I can get? My car would be there during the day when I’m at work and the road has paid parking during the day. I presume 99% of people who move find themselves in this scenario?

Somebody mentioned they might give me a temp pass or visitors pass if waiting after applying, but I can't even apply until I get the documents.

    Many thanks

Got an answer in the meantime - so for any other users wondering DCC said -

If you do not have any of the required documents it is possible to submit a lease agreement.
It is possible to apply for up to 16 visitor vouchers with a lease agreement which would tide you over whilst you are waiting for your other documents.

    Thx

from a friend who works in DCC (assuming that's the local authority in question): ring the parking permit section. they can use a signed lease as proof of address to apply for visitor permits (i think this would be several 24-hour permits to tide you over till the full one comes through). also, you should only need one proof of address.
