Traffic was nuts this morning...on the one morning that I needed to be arriving at work on time.
And the muppets at work have started their week of muppetry already....give me strength!

Oh thank you for your concern, I really appreciate that :) It's nothing new though, I have a lung disease so I'm monitored very carefully, and I have no problem with all of this attention on my chest :D

Trivially annoying, eh? Well, this morning as I was hopping on my bike to head to work, I noticed that a bin was very slightly blocking the gateway (about 2 cm of it). This annoyed for a split second until I realised that I had put the bin there myself 2 minutes previously.
I sometimes do end up doing packing in work and if I'm full of messing (Highly possible if it's so quiet I'm packing)....I do pack and wrap very well :pac: :pac:

I have to send certain machine parts (aluminium blocks 2cm X 2cm X 7cm) to a place in Germany to be repaired, to have a rubber finish applied to them. I'd usually send 15 or 20 at the time, and when they'd return, they'd be on a large piece of cardboard and vacuum-packed onto it. Whoever put them onto the cardboard would make them into the shape of a UFO or fighter plane, which I thought looked great. The only thing was that it made them more awkward to unpack.

The person that did that must have left because it doesn't happen anymore (or their creativity and joy for life was sapped from their soul).

Music radio stations are a big annoyance for me.

I could not be the only person in the country who wants to hear some good music in the morning when I am having my shower. We dont all wake up full of beans.

I dont want to hear two numpties talking to each other and trying to be funny.
I dont want to hear jokes.
I dont want to hear some hapless punter calling in for some inane competition.

    Just play good fcking music!

And they don't get any numptier than Bernard, Jennifer Mguire and the other one...
Phone in quizzes are a pet hate of mine and kids on the radio too.

Maybe I just need to stop listening.

It's a difference in units. You're used to the decimal gigabyte which is the equivalent of a 1000 megabytes, 1,000,000,000 bytes etc. Your computer reads it in binary gibibytes where a gibibyte is 1024 mebibytes, 1 mebibytes is 1024 kibibytes etc.

So there are more bytes in 1 gibibyte(1,073,741,824 bytes) than there are in one 1 gigabyte(1,000,000,000 bytes). Hence why your computer says your 16 gigabyte flash drive is only 14.4 gibibytes.

It's still not 16 gigabytes though. If you look at its properties, it will say 15,464,349,696 bytes which is only 15.46 gigabytes! Bastards!

Sometimes they come with a partition on them, so there will be a secret drive on them for drivers or bloatware.

Is that like those trousers with an elasticated waistband for when you eat too much at Christmas? :pac:

All this sneaking around by computer companies is very unsettling. Can anyone be trusted any more?? :(

There is so much I don't understand about most radio stations.

Wtf is the story with people calling in for competitions? Do people actually like listening to Máire calling in and winning the new Kings of Leon album? Is it supposed to be entertaining?

Marty Whelan on Lyric FM plays some quality classical music in the morning -

Your ears will thank you for it :D

Meanwhile, it used to be dog dirt littering the footpaths on my way to work, now it's comdoms. I used greet the council workers cleaning the streets in the morning, haven't met them in a while, and the streets are the worse for their absence :(

Get into work and people complain that they're tired. Well yes, that's perfectly normal for most people who stay up till all hours instead of going to bed at a reasonable hour. I'm not really all that interested in hearing people state the obvious as though they're notifying me of the fact that they have no intention of doing anything today

Money, don't talk to me about money at this hour, and I can hear you, just give me a chance to respond before you call my name repeatedly like a child!!

    Coffee time, thank fcuk! :pac:

There is so much I don't understand about most radio stations.

Or people ringing in to request a song. Since they love the song so much, they probably have it on their phone, on CD, record, tape whatever.

DJ: So Máire, all you have to do is answer this question correctly and you will be getting the new Kings of Leon album. Are you a fan?

Máire: Yes, they are my absolute favourite band in the whole wide world so they are. I am so excited that I am going to win this that I can hardly sit down. The whole family and a few neighbours are here in the back kitchen with me.

DJ: Ah great, its an easy question so should be no bother to you. Are you ready?

Máire: I am, ready as I will ever be.

DK: Ok, What was the name of Kings of Leons last album?

    Máire:...

DJ: Máire, are you still there.

Máire: Yes. Just thinking. Is it The Joshua Tree?

DJ: No, Máire, its a good guess, but not the right one.

    Me: YOU STUPID MUPPET!

TA'd today that I was somebody else's TA this morning.

I just missed a green light coming from a side street onto the main road. Usually you'd be waiting a good 2-3 minutes for your turn to come around again, so I start faffing about - a sip of coffee, check that my work badge is in my bag.

By some quirk there was no traffic on the main road and the traffic management system turned my light green. I failed to notice, then tried to move off in 2nd and finally got going, just in time to sail through the next junction as the light went amber stopping the car behind me :o

I had a long post written out there, and of course the site kicked out on me, so now I'm writing this on my coffee break, but anyway, Menas -

My OH has decided that instead of nudging me to stop snoring, he will yell "stop snoring" at me. I was so startled and worried I would just start snoring again, I didn't fall asleep for ages and even then didn't get enough sleep. I also can't be mad at him as he had to go into work early this morning so he needed the sleep more then me  *sigh* I need coffee

Some dipstick played Manic Monday(which I hate) on a Wednesday morning few weeks ago and Im still traumatised.Imagine hearing that on your way to work and youre feeling ****e anyway:( It should be Thin Lizzy only between 7.30 and 8.30am and no talking or crap music.

Also my volume knob is on the drivers side in my car and people automatically turn the other one and lose the station..GRRRR
I do the opposite in every other car but thats ok:D

On that note, another thing that really annoys me is that 'Product of the year' thingy - it seems every second product in the shops has won 'Product of the year'!

I am just terrible to sleep next to, I snore and I cough. I don't annoy myself usually though because I am a heavy sleeper, but my poor OH is tormented :p
