I don't have a problem with the price or the players for that matter. We got Rio for £30 million and that was in 2002, so while £45 million is a lot of money, it is also not unreasonable from Everton.

Daniel Levy would probably want at least £60 million for Kane and far more if his current form continues.
He looks like he could be a consistent 25 to 30 plus goals a season player.

We're probably better off trying to get Lukaku off Everton than Kane off Spurs. I doubt Everton's resolve will be as strong as Levy's. Lukaku probably a better player too.

We probably won't go for either but just for arguments sake:

    Lukaku for 45m
    Kane for 60m

Kane is so much better than lukaku. It's not even close.

Kane would be a very nice acquisition in Jan, lovely player.

Absolute nonsense. It's not hyperbole at all and tbh I'm not convinced that you know the meaning of that word if you think it is.

FYI hyperbole would be if I said I thought he was the best striker in the history of the premier League.

Kane is 22 years old, got 31 goals in all competitions last season, and despite a slow start to the season, he is now back on track and will be getting over 50 goals before the age of 23 on current form.
Spurs can afford to hold onto him and have no reason to sell. After the mess they mostly made of the Bale money, they now have a star who is potentially world class.
It will come down to what Kane wants, and there is nothing to suggest he would want to leave Spurs.
They have something really good going on at that club.

Not convinced Kane is a much better player then Lukaku myself tbh.

Think Lukaku has so much more potential then him, whether he fulfills it or not is another thing but the upside is certainly greater with Lukaku for me.

If we are talking monopoly money I'd buy both cause I think Kane has a little bit of Sheringham about him and would work really well as a shadow/second striker.

I think Lukaku would be a better foil to Marshal tbh. I like Kane, but Lukaku has impressed me more with a worse team round him.

Indeed. I'd take 5 figures on that if I could!!

100 is a nice grand bet. No problem paying that.

I don't get the sudden lukaku hype to be honest...although if he did move to a big team ala man u then it would make or break him IMO

Don't think its sudden, per se. Right, the whole "50 goals before 23 y.o. club" thing has brought him forward again, but I know there's been discussions here about him plenty before. IIRC, The Doc has brought him up as a good target a few times...

If you believe the stories going round when we loaned Januzaj to Dortmund, United were told €60m would get Reus.

How is Adnan doing for them?

I was disappointed when Chelsea signed him originally.

Mainly because he was an animal for me on FM10! :p

As far as I know, he's barely getting game time. Dortmund has been on fire that much that he's not really breaking into the team. So basically, he's having the same issues there as he had with us.

Saw a quote from LVG the other day where he basically told Januzaj not to go to Dortmund cause that would happen, but Januzaj ignored him and went anyway :/

Jan is struggling to break in to the team, but the team is going really well so it is obviously going to be hard for him to get a look in, I think it is looking like a mistake on his part if he had the opportunity to go somewhere in the PL where he was more likely to see game time but I respect that he backed himself at the same time. It is still relatively early for him in his loan spell. He didn't have any pre season with the team and as I have already said it is a tough thing to do to force yourself into a team that is going very well a lot of the time.

It will be good experience for him regardless but you would also hope he manages to make an impact in the second half of the season or it will have been largely a waste of a year for him

OK fair enough maybe 'sudden' is a bit strong but still not sure myself if he's good enough for utd again IMO. I wouldn't go splurging 50 million on him put it that way.

There was many posters on here who singled him out as a very viable option 5-6 months ago when our striking options were becoming very short.

Lukaku has been talked about for a long time really, before he moved to Chelsea, he wasn't seen as a viable target while at Chelsea among other reasons why talk probably stopped more or less. Since he has moved to Everton he would certainly have figured in many peoples lists of potential targets.

I wouldn't go along with the need for a new striker the same way that others have. If Ronaldo and Benzema are injured for Madrid then who do they play there? What about if Neymar and Suarez get injured for Barca? Lewandowski and Muller at Bayern? This is only coming up because both Martial and Rooney were injured for the same game and there was still Memphis there to fill in. An all round attacker in the Neymar, Aubameyang, Muller etc. mould who can play both the wing or through the middle would be the way around that rather than spunking a wedge on big man like Lukaku who isn't even that great in the air.

I'd say its more due to the soon to be problem of replacing Rooney really, time waits for no man and all that :)

Same as kyrogen er sorry stringerbell said above its becase rooney hasnt been good enough more so then the lack if options but if he continues improving on his performance from the past few games he might be forgiven.

Rooney has probably been United's best attacker the last 2 games he played. Played well for England too by all accounts. He's 30, not old by any means. A few miles on the clock yes but I wouldn't be rushing to write him off yet.

Agree he has been better and he has plenty time left if he keeps up recent form but if he hasnt kept it up by the end of season its goingnto be hard not to get someone in to replace him as he will be nealy 31 and out of form and on massive wages.
