Thanks Tatranska for the advice. When I log into the paypal portal under profile I dont see an option to change my password. I just see add/edit bank account details. Add/edit credit/debit card/ add/edit delivery address and add/edit e-mail address:confused:

If you know your current password, you can change it from your PayPal account profile page. Here's how:

Log in to your PayPal account.

Click the Profile icon next to 'Log Out' and select Profile and settings.

In the 'My business info' section, click Change next to 'Password/Security questions'.

    Select Password.

Click Edit. You may be required to confirm your account information.

Enter your current password and your new password.

    Click Save.

I placed an ad and I got this today Hello Friend,

Thanks for your response,Am ok with your price and I need you to understand that i am willing and ready to purchase it right away, put it off the AD site, consider me as your favorite buyer, and Please note that i live in USA but right now am in Astor on the sea and due to my work as a marine engineer,I will not be able to come to view the merchandise or come for the pick up but i have a shipper/mover who handles my shipping arrangement anywhere in the world and i will make all transportation preparations for the it to be transported to my home in USA.If possible can you send me some recent picture?,My shipper will be coming for the pickup, after you have received payment, which would be through PayPal,So do you have a PayPal account for the payment?.

    Regards...

    Lets be careful out there

'Nanny' DoneDeal have done it for you already
    Not Available in Your Country

Sorry, this part of the web site is not available in your country.

DoneDeal is a web site for people in Ireland and Northern Ireland. For safety reasons, and to avoid confusion, we do not allow access from other countries.

If you want to contact a user about their ad, please call them instead. You find their phone number in the ad.
    Are you in Ireland?

If you are in Ireland or Northern Ireland, please send an email to support@donedeal.ie with the following information:

Your IP address (you can find it here)
Information about where you are (city, town, etc)

We will use the information to update our security filter.

    Thank you for using DoneDeal.ie
    The DoneDeal Team

ONLY problem with this is that if the scammer's friend is in Ireland then the scam goes on, and genuine people from overseas (where I am at the moment ) cannot access DoneDeal. DD must be the only selling site to employ such an amateurish 'security' solution :P

Its amateur but I suspect it actually reduces the dodgy ads by a huge factor. Easier to just move on to another site than go in to bypass manoeuvres.

If its their only line of defence its a terrible defence, but it its just part of many there's no problem with it.
