because sadly there is an element of our support that just loves to find a scapegoat in our team and turn on our players when things are going wrong, but at the same time they are willing to completely ignore the real issues perhaps lie elsewhere.

it happened to Evra, it happened to Nani, it happened to Cleverly, it happened to Welbeck, now that they are all gone, its turned to Rooney.

anybody wanting Rooney to be injured, isnt a United fan. its f*cking pathetic.

I agree with most of that, never wish injury on a player.

Cleverley was not good enough for United, and Welbeck - he tried his best, his only problem has been poor finishing, Nani - I don't miss him.

not really at you Homer, but nobody wanted to see Cleverly injuried

The reason Cleverly got stick is he was ****, is still ****, and anyone who thinks different is talking ****.

EDIT: in fairness Welbeck would still have been good squad player and least tried and had pride when playing for United.

You should, he is the only one of those listed who might actually have made a difference to us this season.

exactly, we usually sell good players for dirt cheap, RVP 4m, Nani 4m, Rafael 2.5m, Javier Hernandez 7m, evra 1.2m.

I was agreeing with what Brinty had said about him. He is in his 3rd season at united now and we still don't know what his best position is. van Gaal seemed to think he was a striker at the start of the season but after a few appearances it was clear as day he wasn't a striker, so what is he? He's not a midfielder..

I'm not gonna bother debating Fellaini.

But how much should we sell them for?
Bayern sold Bastian for 6 million as well.

Would you prefer the club drags their heels over a million for a player who is happy to leave and isn't needed

I prefer them to just let the player go if he wants for a small fee than be gowls about it.

Just let him leave and move on.

I think that is taking it to the extreme. I was extremely critical of the players you mentioned, along with Vidic and Ferdinand through various times, and felt totally justifiable doing so.

Although at no point would I actually want a player to be injured. That's ridiculous thinking from anyone who wants that. You want, and should want, your manager to be tough and big enough to drop the player you feel is causing you grief and not performing.

Would play Rojo , Smalling , Jones , Darmain in defence.

    Bastian and Sneiderlin in midfield.

Young , Herrera , Mata in ATM.

Wilson up front. He deserves a shot.

Depay to come on at some stage.

And yet at the same time if anyone was giving the option "Wellbeck or Falcao" I'd be worried about anyone who chose Wellbeck, Falcao's injury situation aside.

While it's all a bit nice and hingsighty, I was very critical of Wellbeck at United and never felt he would be of the required standard. And I took some **** for it.

Can't say I've seen anything to indicate any "ugh I got that wrong" on my part.

He has two seasons to sort his **** out, or he will basically be in with the likes of Frazier Campbell and those boys. All the pace in the world, can't hit a barn with a shotgun.

His time was past, look at how many of the other top clubs wanted him. He was very hit and miss.

Falcao and Torres should grab lunch some time , between the two of them they might be able figure out how they went from being two of the most feared strikers on the planet to also rans who couldn't finish their dinner.

A specious argument, the top clubs weren't exactly lining up for Rooney either.

We have been absolutely crying out for a player with pace and unpredictability to help us unlock massed defences, Nani could have offered that but instead we let him go for peanuts. Thats an important factor you know, the fact that we didn't need to chase him or buy him, we already had him, we just needed to use him.

But Van Gaal doesn't like unpredictable, so instead we have to watch Mata frighten teams with his pace instead.

Have you tried quitting your job and becoming a football manager.
You have wonderful insight that 3 other managers had failed to see.

    Nani was done.

I'd imagine the answer is pretty clear in two serious injuries, which results in a number of subsequent injuries for players like them relying on explosiveness, and then mental doubt starts to creep in about how they can't do what they want to anymore.

    Same thing happened with Owen.

It is no big mystery or secret. you just watch them long enough after they return to realise that the injury's involved weren't something they could ever get over.

Memphis, Martial and Lingard are all unpredictable.

The decision to ship off RVP and Falcao was absolutely right.

Two players whose star has waned earning about £500,000 between them, way too much for bit part players.

    Chico still stings though.

The decision not to replace them was madness, really poor squad management imo and this weekends team availabilty was bound to happen.

Its the most bizarre thing that Van Gaal has done at the club so far and theres been a few.

At least now we get to see what the real story with Wilson is. Does Van Gaal rate him enough to put him front and center? Is he good enough to take the chance? He is older than Martial so no excuses, lets see what he can do.

Our 3rd striker who never gets a game doesn't have match rhythm, better not play him then . So who does play up front? Depay? Felliani? Yeah, I'm sure their match rhythm will be just tip-top!

Fellaini is injured :D Wilson was out with a knock I thought so he isn't fully fit yet. Memphis is who I reckon will start up front with Lingard herrera and Mata behind him. In fairness we SHOULD have more than enough to beat Watford. I suppose we will have to wait and see until tomorrow who is picked.

    Lingard Mata Depay
    ............Wilson.........

My pick of what's available, a good amount of pace in there

Our 3rd/4th striker, just back from injury who hasn't played much doesn't have any match fitness so can't play 90 minutes.

Remind me, did Van Gaal say he can't play because he has no match fitness or did he say he can't play 90 minutes because he has no match fitness?

Do you think it would be unreasonable to suggest a player with no match fitness would struggle to play 90 minutes as a lone striker?

Marcus Rashford and Sean Goss are in the squad for tomorrow.

Am actually very curious to see how we do tomorrow. Not been shy in saying I wanted Rooney out of the squad, and in a way, we've been too over reliant on Martial. Will be interesting.

Though I'm not expecting entertainment :P Gonna be a grounded out result.

Van Gaal didn't mention fitness at all. He said rhythm.

You can debate if he means fitness, but it doesn't really change my thoughts. Wilson can't last 90 minutes? Fine. Start him and see how long he lasts. He isn't going to get much fitter sitting there. Not going to get much rhythm either.
