Licence duration mixing Cat 1 and Cat 2 vehicles

It will indeed mix grp 1 and grp 2 end dates. Assuming you're under 60, the licence end date on the front will show a ten year duration and your grp 1's category end dates will have the same end date on the back.

The grp 2's end dates on the back of the card will have the same day and month but will be five years earlier, assuming your medical covers you for the full five years.

There often is days or weeks between the grp 1's and 2's on outgoing licence and I reckon the reason is because of the grp 2's were issued on the basis of the date on the medical report and grp 1's were issued on the basis of arrival at the Motor Tax Office. It's very common for people to wait a while after getting the medical before going to get their licence.

EB (or BE as it's now known) is a group 1 category so that'll be there for ten years too

There's EU vehicle categories M1, M2 and M3 for passenger vehicles, and N1, N2 and N3 for goods.
