Lots of people on the TA thread seem to be from Cork, we have a lot of annoyances :p We should definitely have a TA beers in Cork :pac:

You'll find that the above is an East Limerick/North Tipp accent, which is where I originally hail from. :D

So I posted in another forum for some advice/feedback and I pop back to see if I got any help.

Sadly, it turns out I didn't but my post gets thanked and I'm now like

    :(

Perhaps it was someone who had the same problem as yourself, and were glad they didn't have to post the question themselves? Maybe just plain old sympathy for your predicament? Ok, I think I've just run out of semi-logical explanations. :/

I see what you're saying but normally people will parrot what you said or quote it, just to push home the point & get some help. Thanking it just causes confusion.

    I love corned beef.

    I love potato salad.

So I thought a corned beef and potato salad sandwich would be delicious.

    I was wrong :(

I took one bite, and the minute it entered my mouth, I knew something was wrong, straight back out again. I've tasted a lot of things in my time, but that particular combination was one I won't be trying again, and now I'm hanging for a decent sandwich

You were. You want the corned-beef and potato salad on a plate with a dollop of English mustard, and your brown bread on a side-plate. You attack the resulting edifice with a knife-and-fork. Think of it as a reverse-sandwich-autopsy. You're welcome! :D

Just got another Billigí Waterahooraha na hÉireann there this morning. I've been completely ignoring them from the outset - I have no idea who these people are, for all I know they're Nigerian 419-artists - but I am looking forward to when they get really hysterical sometime next year, and I'll pull the chequebook and tease them with it like a dopey labrador with a dog-biscuit! :pac::pac::pac:

No doubt this will bite me on the ass at some stage but until the USC is abolished (not just reduced) Im paying nowt to anyone.

I surrendered on the LPT when Revenue took it over. I know when I'm done, I can't fight a Revenue ED-209! :pac:

I'll probably be bate and leathered into paying this eventually - when they get around to garnisheeing my payslip I'll probably pay whatever is owed then, in hundredweight sacks of five cent coins. And that's the way I'll be doing it every year - after it's cost them the maximum in money and stress, and not before. As my father would have said, "the fcukers will wear two sets of tyres collecting it!" :D

Our canteen at work doesn't have any soup spoons and I keep forgetting to bring one in with me, so every time I have soup for lunch I look like an idiot using a dessert spoon.

Any canteen I've been in, no-one would notice if you were using a garden trowel! :pac:

This is another TA of mine, the way some in the popular meeja have pulled the rather impressive stroke of equating in people's minds not wanting to hand over any more of my money for Denis O'Brien's new conservatory or new Art Deco lamposts for Temple Bar with being some sort of a "Leftie". I can assure everyone here that I am the right-wing, free-for-all asshole your mother warned you about. :D

    ok whats your phone number,
emmm, whats that to do with bills to my address.

So I politely gave them my old number and were extremely helpful, Yes, its single occupant. got my new bill out in 2 days, incorporating ALL the other charges, of single and default occupant, why bother....and I got the meter in.....an estimated bill......:confused:

People that can't spell and people that constantly write in text speak. I just can't be dealing with it. The odd mistake here and there okay, but the same word misspelled over and over, stop! It's enough to drive me over the edge. *twitches*

I tried this twice, first got social democrats but felt maybe I moved the slider a bit too much. The second time I got Fianna Fail. I'm off to take myself off the register so Im not at risk of voting for FF.

it gets itchy and greasy because you wash it so often. the best thing you can do is switch to every 2-3 days and just put up with the nasty feeling of it as your hair adjusts to the new regime

People that can't take a complement (1) at all, or (2) at face value.
    (1) They say you're wrong or need new eyes.
    (2) Think you have an ulterior motive "What do you want?"

I was just being nice, won't make that mistake again.
