Static IP with Eircom and eVision.

I am aware that eircom advise customers that eVision is not compatible with a static IP but I am being asked to have a static IP at home for work reasons (Web developer, work from home some days) but I have eVision and the two don't play nice.

However the IT consultant I'm talking with has eVision with a static IP and has sent me a screenshot showing that his F1000 modem (same as mine) is still set to IPoE encapsulation where as I can only get the static IP to take affect by changing to PPPoE.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to get the static IP to work without changing encapsulation?

The IT consultant I'm working with said he didn't change anything, it always just worked this way for him. Without asking him to send of pics of all his modem settings is there anyone who might just happen to know how he could be still on IPoE with a working static IP?

His isnt static, its just sticky. If he leaves his modem off for long enough it'll change.

The network architecture doesnt allow for both to operate together. If you need a static IP for your dev work the best bet is to subscribe to a VPN provider that offers you a static address and then connect your PC through it while working.
