Copies of the American Constitution were removed from a campus because it gave a woman headaches, dizzy spells and panic attacks because it's an oppressive document. I fear you may be too optimistic. The ideology that wins out in a society will be the one that is able to put its arguments most effectively & forcefully, whether that be domination (earned or otherwise) of the national & transnational conversation (media, universities etc) or through the medium of the bullet & bomb. I'd love to believe that we're inescapably destined for a future of enlightment & reason but history shows that human progress can & sadly often does go backward.

I said the term fascist refers to the right only. That had nothing to do with my political views and everything to do with being taught that words have meaning and we can't just decide to make them mean what we personally want them to mean.
