Motorised roller blinds

I am considering getting motorised roller blinds in our extension that is being built at the moment. I have received approximate quotes from ACME blinds, AWB and autorails.

I am curious if anyone has dealt with any of these companies and how you found them? I'd also be interested to hear about anyone who has motorised roller blinds and how you find them?

    Many thanks.

Know nothing of these companies, but bought one off Gumtree the other day, en route to me now so I should be able to give you an opinion next week if interested.

Well, I got it ok but there was a big problem.

It was an official Velux motorised blackout blind. Opened the box, couldn't find the remote and emailed the seller.

Got the reply "it hasn't got one, this is a blind to tie into an existing Velux motorised blind system, do you not already have one?"

So it appears this blind was an add-on to an existing system. I assumed it was a single, standalone one. So I ain't going to get to see it move up and down with a remote!

Oh no! How disappointing is that.

It's strange though. When I was quoted for my blinds I was given a price and then he mentioned as an aside that the remote control was €75 and a wall switch would be €70. I asked how they'd operate without either the remote or switch and he said they wouldn't... I don't know why they just don't include the cost of these in the quote!
