A couple of nights ago I was getting pop up messages saying that the flash player couldn't display the page content and needed updating. This only happened on Boards.ie web pages.

I went to the Adobe website and checked and everything was up to date. I ran a scan with Malware bytes and it detected a trojan horse.

Yes, one of Boards's ad providers (PageFair) got compromised. The file was malware which facilitates a botnet!

A subscriber so it's not adverts). It's sticking every time half loaded

Mostly fine except for one seciont, "/forumdisplay.php?f=907" C&T takes forever to load, 30-40 seconds. Rest of the site is snappy while this happens.

Returning to note adding the www prefix solved this.

Seriously, can anyone in power even offer a suggestion as to why Boards has not been loading for me at all 95% of the time, the past ten days? This is on both Safari and Chrome, although Safari has loaded the site more often than Chrome has. Still, 95% of the time it just will not load.

    It's getting really frustrating.

If there's a known issue with the site, then at least I can rule out my internet connection.

I would say 99/100 it is loading fine for me so I would assume the issue is on your side if 95 times out of 100 it isn't loading.

Stick a monitor on it https://uptimerobot.com/ and see if it is the site or you that it is down for

Everytime I click on a forum, the page jumps to the bottom instead of at the top like it should.
When I click on After Hours, for example, it jumps straight to the bottom where the listed Mods are.

The front page takes about 5x longer to start to load than any other page on the site...

Not sure if it's an IOS problem or a boards problem, but the site is freezing all over the shop on the full site on iPad.

    Why wouldn't they?

I've noticed boards a bit slow for the last week myself but nothing major. It's slower than it used to be but a quick refresh of the page will sort it out.

It's been basically perfect for me for the last few days apart from that big hiccup last night.

Lads, why do you keep posting on this thread???

Would you rather I post it in the Airsoft forum or something?!

Pretty sure this thread is the most appropriate place to post such things.

    Or, y'know, Site Development...

Someting that's always bothered me is the name - Site Development. It doesn't exactly indicate that it's also for site technical problems, it sounds more like a forum for making suggestions for improving the site, i.e. additions, technical changes, etc..

In fairness, should threads like this, and posts like these, be posted in "Feedback," in "Help Desk" or in "Site Development?"

    Which one?

It's not at all clear which it should be.

And if the mods believed this to be the wrong forum for this thread, they would have moved it.

After a couple of weeks of Boards not working for me at all, 99% of the time, it now seems to be back up and running for me as normal.

It is very slow once you get past the front page. It has been this way for weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

I haven't had any problems for weeks. Certainly nothing like 99% not loading.

Same here, it's been fine for me too, for the last while.

Full site slow for me on laptop. Fine on touch site on mobile.

Site was down for me a few moments ago. All I got was a blank white page, on an iPad, Safari.

I seem to be getting brought back to posts I've already read when I click into "go to last unread post". I think this preceded the last time the site went bad...

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test
