Having some issues lately with the flow rate from the toilets and showers etc, most likely culprit is limescale build up inside them (live in laois).I was wondering if i put descaler into the attic tank and allowed it to work its way through the system would it ; (A) help the situation and (B)would it be safe? Thanks

To answer the bolded part first No.
This is water that you wash and brush your teeth with and it would be difficult to ensure that the system is absolutely fully flushed of the cleanser.
I would suggest you separately clean the affected components, at least then you can ensure that they have been thoroughly rinsed clean of any chemicals used.
