Lines of cars unloading kids around my area, this must be the new thing of call to every estate in the town.It used to be just the travellers that did it but now hordes arrived this evening. There's not a huge amount of kids living here but earlier it was an invasion.
The usual houses did the old turn off all the lights trick.Currently trying to keep my kids from devouring their stash in one go.

Giving out diabetes advice slips to all the trick or treaters makes me the number one fun guy in my neighbourhood.

The Good: Great Halloween weather has meant loads more kids than usual have come to our shop for their free sweets. (Payback for all the sweets they buy from us throughout the year)

The Bad: Not one Slutty Nurse/Witch/Smurf/Zombie has been in to buy their smokes on the way to the pubs....

We have no trick or treaters here. Our house is in a gated area...thank fook!

Sorry for going off topic a bit... Bit of an odd question - how much sweets do you give trick or treaters? One handful each? Two? Or do you let them help themselves?

Something we've picked up from my dad - we make a little goody bag for each child. We put 2 funsize choccie bars in, a handful of monkey nuts and a mandarin orange. Such geeks!!! haha

Having said that, we got very few callers which is disappointing as we'd loads of goody bags done up... Ah well, guess I'll just have to eat loads of junk now!! haha

Did indeed! Wouldn't actually mind trick or treaters calling if we actually had some sweets to give them.

Sounds posh...but the gates were put there to stop junkies from getting in... :(

    Im returning the favour

Must be **** for little kids who look forward to 3 things a year.

    1. Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas.

Trick or Treating can be built up in Kids heads.

Parents wanting to fulfill their kids excitement only to find Most people dont open the doors.

When I was a kid in Portmarnock, every house gave stuff to the kids.

Staying in and might try to watch Hocus Pocus if I can find the DVD. We're going to a wedding tomorrow so an early night is my main plan.

I wish we had trick or treaters but because we live in the country, no one usually calls to us. Such a shame!

Where's that explicitly stated in the charter?

    I messaged a mod.

I'm going to stop using Irish, people like you are getting on my nerves.

Oh, while I'm here, my name is Caoimhghín, no need to make a mockery of it.

Post in Irish if you want. Don't let some wet blankets get to you. I certainly didn't mind it anyway.

People who are getting offended because this person posts in Irish (as well as English), you know where the ignore button is. Use it if it really bothers you that much.

Nout scary on tonight or for the last few years. Netflix full of ****e. Sky movies has **** all. What happened to the days of wall to wall classic horror movies on Halloween on every channel. Maybe people found some way to be offended and complained.

These are all town dwellers,it used to be just the travellers who arrived before everybody else but this year people must have went home with car boots loaded to the hilt after touring the estates.

poor selection tonight...colin farrells fright night is pretty tame and hollywoody.
Dracula on film 4 is what we're watching now but was hoping to convince her to watch "nightmare on elm street" on Dave

The first Halloween is a classic and should be on every year similar same as Charlie and chocolate factory and christmas

Bram Stokers Dracula is on Film 4 but I would love to see The Omen or The Exorcist, even Poltergeist.

Yea forgot about Halloween that would be great tonight!

Anyone remember about 20-25 years ago RTE showed 3 3d films at Halloween. One was a 3 stooges and the other 2 were horror shown later in the night. They gave away a free pair of 3d glasses with the guide that week. I remember my mother having to buy 3 RTE guides that week to stop ww3.
