So what is everyone planning for tonight? Party? Town? JustEat?

Whats our fair capital usually like on Halloween?

I will be exacting drastic vigilante justice on all the scrotes, scobies and scallywags that are abroad this evening, and in the morning I will have a large omelette.

Worst night of the year for the Emergency Services, I'm working tonight but I can pull the plug if it gets too dangerous, they have to carry on dealing with the **** regardless.

Never really celebrate Halloween but each to their own.

Pizza, maybe watch a horror film if any on and look after a dog with super sensitive hearing who is traumatised on this night every year and in turn annoys the hell out of me with her barking

Dinner in a while, hand out sweets to the brats trick-or-treaters, watch Strictly if I get a chance, open some wine, few nibbles later, hopefully watch a scary film if there's one on but I doubt there is.
    That's it.

Sorry for going off topic a bit... Bit of an odd question - how much sweets do you give trick or treaters? One handful each? Two? Or do you let them help themselves?

    Two handfuls per child.

The aim is to kill the little sh!ts. So as much as you think is necessary.

I dare you to go with this option.

I live in an apartment block and the two kids in the apartmennt across the landing are the only ones here. Lucky buggers make a killing here every year if I haven't scoffed everything in the week leading up to it.

Also when did sweets overtake fruit as the gift? I'm 35 so must be about a quarter of a century since I dressed up and went door to door but it was always fruit and nuts and if one house was giving out sweets you'd hear it on the grapevine and that house would be mobbed.

Play Call of Duty and completely ignore the knocks on the door. I don't have kids, so why should i supply candy to other kids when i know there'll be none coming back to me!

Indian takeaway and a nice bottle of red wine.

Kid is gone out trick or treating so I'm getting some time to watch a box set.

I did last year! Our first year in a house so we had trick or treaters calling but weren't sure what the etiquette was. I think most of them were too polite or afraid to take too much. That's why I was wondering should I just dole out the sweets myself as maybe I was putting them on the spot!

Ah feck that giving fruit! Kids want the good stuff :)

Living in Neilstown it normally ends up like a scene from the walking dead mixed with Palestine.

I'd rather take my chances in either than Neilstown.

Don't...I think it's harmless and if someone learns a little something...what harm??

I'm on my way home from a rather awful date. I am a cursed woman. It is my second awful date in a row. If any of you are near Heuston Station come in and rescue my night. Otherwise it's home to jammies and alone land. And pizza. Because you know. Comfort eating.

Where's that explicitly stated in the charter?

Most of us on here will understand basic phrases, not everything needs to be translated.
