I liked the bit in Toyota where they built a bolt dispenser for James because he found picking 2 bolts out a bit fiddly.

Well they are the "best built cars in the world" ;)

This might sound stupid but are all 2nd gen Punto bonnets exactly the same size? Any chance the facelifted one has a slightly longer/bigger one? Mine has some fitment issues.

Are you trying to fit the bonnet from a late mk2, the one with completely different headlights?

Oh yeah, forgot that it does have the cutouts for headlights in the bonnet. :o

No, I'm trying to fit anything to it, but the bonnet that's been there ever since I got the car does not sit flush with the headlights, it seems a little off. I've been trying to take out the screws that hold it in place and sliding it as much as it allows but it still looks a bit off when you're up close to it. It's as if the bonnet is a little too long than it should be.

You should have a consistent gap between the wing and bonnet all the way from hinge to headlight. You need to line up the back of the bonnet with the windscreen end of the wing.

    Have you seen other puntos?

I'll have a look again tomorrow, but right now it's pretty far from this:

Maybe it's had a small tap at the front and that's why the bonnet is too long :pac:

My clutch peddle went to the floor earlier like the cable snapped. It was fairly stiff before and making the odd noise. I just put down to the age of the car and dismissed it. I got it towed now but will be next week before anything can be done. Anyone know if it's a cable or release bearing perhaps? it's a focus...

The pedal box got some welding this morning and it's sorted :).

I'm tempted to print off some of these and bring them to my local supermarket.

Think the older focus's anyway had a hydraulic clutch.

The master cylinder looks easy to replace, but the slave cylinder is inside the gearbox it seems

Ah for once I won't need to cross the bloody track in the car :pac:

It's pretty cool they will have drifting and normal track driving at the same time

Never been on the international end so it will be a big learner. The back straight is longer and I say she'll be into the triple figures before braking.

Cant wait but equally apprehensive :)

The Race School Mazda 3's which are near stock engine wise are doing 144kph (when driven by an instructor)when you break for Tarzan. The 911's I have seen doing closer to 160kph by a student. If its wet and it probably will be the kink before it goes downhill can be hairy (went off there at high speed myself). Its not a long a straight as you think. Remember to use all the track on the exit of Parabolica and if its dry use the curb on the way in.

I was watching video and that kink looks tricky alright, I've remembered to watch the braking coming over the crest and let her settle.

Interesting, i thought it seemed longer!
Thanks for the tips man :)

Edit: I'm assuming it's a late apex I'm looking for as i turn in on the Parabolica?

The track day tomorrow is just on the school circuit so i have to turn back before the second to last!
Always thought it was a cool corner.

I've taken all that in though it's good info and I'll have fun with it tomorrow!

Ah in that case you can probably take Para with just a lift (depending on what your driving of course) since you will be using the race school hairpin.

That last hairpin also looks fun.
I'm in a 323i so only 180-190bhp to play with!
