rte school quiz from the eighties

when i was a teen back in the eighties our school sent some of their kids to dublin for a tv quiz show, that's all i can remember about it. my 2 brothers were involved in it some how but nobody remembers what the show was called, any ideas out there please. the years range was between 1978 and 1988

Blackboard Jungle was on in the 90s. Not sure what the quiz show in 80s was.
