I have my safepass and certificate in manual handling, so is it just a case of looking on job sites? Or is there a program specifically for first year?

No there is no special program for 1st year apprenticeships , looking at job sites is also a waste of time very few if any companies will bother advertising apprenticeships online. There is only one sure way to find an apprenticeship. Take out the phone book find the numbers of any companies within realistic distance from you. Alternatively ask anyone you know with any connections to put in a good word for you

    +1 to all of that.

Except do the bold bit first - it's more likely to be successful than cold-calling.
