Well I promised I'd look at doing something to wrap the year up and seeing as there was a reasonable bit of interest, I have gone and booked us in at the world famous Corballis Golf Links for the inaugural Boards Turkey Shoot out.

Tee times will be early and kick off at 9:56.
Three balls.
Price will be a flat €30.
We have 24 slots booked, but get in early and we can get more slots if required. There is another society out at 11, so extra times would be beforehand. Teamer will be sent out shortly.

Open to everyone who wants to play, not just society members, so an ideal chance if you are new and want to come along and find out what we are about.

An actual outing I feel I can win.

Maybe I will not end 2015 without a boards win.

CSS was 34 pts the other day - so cleary a boards win will be 44

:D

If I win , I want the points recalculated for golfer of the year - I'd be still in the mix. :pac:

On 13, Don't be short - left - right - long or above hole.
on 17 , close one eye, hope and use a Rory ball.

I'm not giving 1 tip -

Bring loads of balls and not prov1s.

Ah Seve, you must have been feeling sorry for Fix to finally give him a venue where he could pull out a win

He's only been complaining for a couple of years so far.

Looking forward to it, haven't been out to Corballis for a few years, not 100% if I played the new holes or not.

There are only 3 lads that could take me here - darcool , Golfgraffix or PARlance.

Hopefully none of them make it.

I'm putting myself forward as favourite. If I don't win this - I'm packing in the society.

Having been threatening to joins the society for a number of years this might be the perfect opportunity to dip my toes in and see what it's like.

Also get to kill two birds with one stone and play the famous Corballis I hear so much about!

Great venue for that time of year. Played it once, was probably one of my first full rounds of golf, loved it.

Great course, Started my playing days on that course, hit everything for a pitching wedge to a 3 wood on the first hole depending on the wind. I hope to get out a bit next year and start playing regularly again, would like to go on this outing but have to work on that date. hope you get a nice calm day to play

I was thinking of joining the society next year. I saw this pop up and was tempted.

However, I'm pretty poor and have never played a links course before. Would Corballis just cause me absolute grief and 20 lost balls?

Would I be better off waiting until the first parkland event in 2016?

I know the default to that question is come along.

But, Could you play it as a practice before ? Do you live in Dublin - it is very cheap. (about 15 quid)
So go out and try it would be the ideal .

In November if wind , it will be hard.

It is a short course - but is very very local knowledge based.

The majority who will be there will just be out for a chat and happy to get the odd par. Go along and you will not regret it.
