The country is getting worse as far as I can see.
The text alert group here is having a meeting here tonight to give the community a chance to meet local guard.
The IFA is having another meeting on crime here Monday night.
I hear an auction in the midlands is a haven to offload stolen goods.

I know it is important for the media to highlight all these break-ins, but old people living alone look at the news every night. Most of them don't sleep at night now. I know it has always been there, but it does seem to be getting worst. A lot of break-ins around me now and we never had them when we were growing up.

My own personnel firearm alright but nothing military. Couldn't think of a good enough reason on the firearms licence application form for a MOWAG I'm afraid. :(

Because you get the same sentence if caught for twenty robberies as for two robberies, you're as well to go at it full tilt and rack up as much loot as possible.

The chances of being caught are very low, and if you are caught by a property owner and detained, you will be quids in by the time your solicitor finishes suing the property owner for assault, etc.

Could be gangs moving out from Dublin as it has tightened up security wise. Alot of easy pickings in the rural areas with old bachelors and the likes in long cul de sacs

    Speaking of community alert,
I've been away in my fathers homeplace for since Sunday evening. On Monday afternoon, a neighbour from up the road followed me 2 miles down the road until I drove up our cul de sac. He then rang around asking was I down for a few days.
That's community alert at it's finest!!

Have to get Tyres fro the Jeep, 255/65/R17
Options are Nexen 114H & Handcook 100H, but €25/tyre difference.
Previous set were Handcook but just got 17 Months.
Has anyone used Nexen? & what did you think (as in grip & longevity)?

I beg to differ. We coped a jeep onside one of our field gates one this. Rolled up in the tractor and blocked the gate as we were getting out of the cab one man ran up the fields. The guards reckon there was someone robbing a house and going to tip across the fields to the jeep

I'm not saying that they won't do a house on a culdesac but they do like having an alternative route to escape

One of them days here. Wee man was due to go into hospital for an operation at 12, so woke him at six this morning to get breakfast as he was to fast for six hours. Only got taken for op at half five so he's been starving all afternoon. I took today off to mind the other one who has a dose of the cold and on antibiotics for sore throat. Got a call this morning from work to say that a group of men were their to do a training course which was meant to be next week but an admin had not checked the dates when sending email so got fooked out of it by them. Then got a call from a tenant in my old house to say she's moving out next month and then got email from mgt company to say there was a leak in an apartment below one I own in the city. So spent an hour trying to locate a plumber in Belfast as I couldn't go. Then the wife's insurance company ring to say they're writing off her car after some prick crashed into her last week so now have to go looking for a car for her (and she has fairly strict criteria for someone that judges a car by colour and style rather than value and price bracket). Then took daughter out to feed cattle despite her mother saying before she left that she was not to be taken out the door and whilst I was feeding she decided to play in the water trough and is now coughing like a 20 a day smoker. And to top it all off the ram on the lift arm on the tractor has come apart so can't feed the cows and the brother left for weekend in Prague this morning, so have to wait till wife gets home about ten before I can get back out. But shure it could be worse...

Some genius has invented mint choc milk. So amazing.
Also got a beautiful soft cheese from Moiled cows, never knew they made a certain cheese from only that breed.

Whatever about the car, tractor, house - hope the operation went well, and the cold improves...

His mother sent me a pic bout an hour ago. He was playing hide n seek in his hospital room so don't think there's too many problems. Until the morphine wears off. 😱

I'm wondering would a ts110 pull a 18ft redrock 14 tonne trailer? Out of a field and on road? Would you **** it up by pulling it also?

It should pull it alright but make sure it can stop it too!
