Irish Water - First Fix Free - HELP needed

    I have received a letter from Irish Water in relation to a free leak investigation under First Fix scheme.

    Irish Water have stated that they would like to work with me and identify where the leak is and if possible, repair it on my behalf under the First Fix scheme.

    Has anyone else encountered this ? and should I take them up on the offer, yet if I do so, any more issues will have to be covered by me.

    TBH, I do not trust Irish water, and feel that this is a trap scare mongroging people into getting engineers to come and fix nothing therefore losing my free fix at a later stage or the fact, that they will do something to make a problem worse which i am then liable for.

    Also, since the water is fixed for the next 2-3 years, is there really a need for me to fix this issue now ?

    yes there is as you are wasting our water. It is not just about you.

    ....never mind the fact that the leaking water could be damaging your house.

    You can verify yourself if you have a leak but making sure you have no running water in your house and then looking at your water meter. If it is spinning then you have a leak.

    You are getting a leak fixed for free. I know many people who have got it done so far. There are lots of leaks out there.

    I am really unsure as to the source of your paranoia. Do you honestly think they are going to sabotage your water supply? Seriously?

    To what end? They arent private plumbers that you can ring to come and have to work and pay them. So whats the benefit to them in damaging the water system on your property that you own and are responsible for?
