Landlord hasn't signed lease agreement

    Hi,

I moved into a house for college in late August this year and the landlord asked me to sign a lease agreement, scan it and send it on to her via email. That was fine, but the problem is that I've no proof of her signing the lease agreement, and neither have any of my housemates. Can this have any effect on my rights as a tenant, if so what are they, and should I contact her about getting proof that she's signed it?

    Thanks,

    Kayleigh

If it's a fixed term and she wants you out, maybe. If it's a Part IV then you can be given minimal notice in the first six months anyway.

If there's any anti-social behaviour, not that there is any suggestion of that - I mention it for completeness, you will be asked to vacate in 7/14 days depending on the nature of the issue.

All in all I wouldn't worry about it too much, just ask for a signed copy back.
