    Hi all

My sister is getting married early next year and she has a very limited budget. She's looking for somewhere out in the country a bit from Dublin, big enough for about 30 people. She'd love it if was somewhere we could all stay over. Something kind of rustic would be nice too. I know it's a big ask but thought someone might have some ideas!

    Thanks in advance.

    Roundwood house in Laois?

The Roganstown in Swords is lovely. I held a family party in a private room with it's own bar for 30 people. The room hire was only €100. We went with an early bird menu, brought our own wine (and paid corkage) and it cost about €1000. It is lovely for photos too.

I'm getting married in the woodenbridge in avoca.
It's an older hotel, where dev went on honeymoon lol, but me and other half love it as it's quirky and we're into history.
They're doing it up atm so should be interesting to see.
Also what you get for your money is great. I've around 40 guests working out at about 2k and that's their platinum package.
They're really nice too :) and very accommodating of small numbers.

I'd say you would manage 40 guests in Cromleach Lodge for 2k if you asked them to adapt the menu. Accommodation is very reasonable too for guests and that's very rustic

I don't have any advice to offer but I do want to ask - is the 2k just for the reception (i.e. dinner & drinks) or is it to cover the whole wedding?

If it's just for the reception, it's not really a tight budget at all. It's E66 per person which will get you something in pretty much any venue around the country, though maybe not their top package. If it's for the whole wedding then it's clearly a much tighter budget.

Suggest the term "any venue" doesnt apply. Nearly every wedding venue have minimum numbers.

Kilashee house in naas have a side room in the old part of the hotel for smaller events. I've been at 20-30 person weddings in there, great little room.

Suggest looking at restaraunts as well, they might not give you exclusivity on a fri/sat night but they might on a thursday if you were drinking the night away. Or could just do restaraunt for the meal until 8ish and avail a of a reserved area in a local hostelry that has music for guests.

    Check out Leixlip Manor

Or Anglers Rest - lots of hotels very near to stay in (can't think of name in blanchardstown centre, travel lodge on Navan Road, Castleknock hotel 5 minutes away, Ashling hotel in town)

I vote for Anglers Rest :)

We had ours in fallons in Kilcullan., Kildare. Had the ceremony there too.

Great place and own room too. Great food, either pick from their menu or create your own. Would definitely go back and do it again and probably will when we have to upgrade next year

Not for that type of budget. Anglers is not a cheap venue.

What about the smaller room they have upstairs? Depending on guest numbers it might work for their budget.

    The glenside hotel in Drogheda.
I love avoca handweavers...they do weddings in the fern house restaurant in kilmacogue in Wicklow. Food is fab :) there is no accomodation though.

Have a look at kippure in wicklow. Took us a while to find somewhere that would do something small enough for us! It's a great spot set in the wicklow mountains but close enough if people are flying in to Dublin. Lots of accommodation too.
