This Andrew Dallas mentioned here is Hugh Dallas' boy. Here's a photo of his old man back in the day looking glum as MON and John Robertson celebrated victory in their first game v The Old Rangers:pac:

He's not glum, he's just glad his windows are intact.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,747 ✭✭✭TheCitizen

Ah he does look glum though, it's a funny photo in contrast to MON and Robbo.

Readin that 'bout the broken windows. The guy who did it was his neighbour, knew him for 20 years.:pac:

How do you expect Dallas to react in the above? Anything other than a serious express and he'd have been getting belters from the other side

I'm no great fan of his, and we all know how it ended for him, but the above picture is of no substance.

For fan bases as supposedly hard as Celtic or Rangers, the level of sensitivity from some is astonishing. Proper snookered behind the red territory

Right, I would have loved to see the outrage if any official showed either delight or sadness at a goal...

That is just an official looking as neutral as he can be.

Rangers v St Midden today Oduwa out after after the kicking he received midweek. Though he should be fit for next week. This could be a tough one.

Sloppy start at first, then a cracker from Holt to open the scoring :)

Game won but we need to be much sharper all over the park. Hibs next week is a big one they will be right up for it and we have to match them and be better all over the park

    http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/statement-by-dave-king/

Statement from Dave King re Sports Direct. Why is he trying to annoy Mike Ashley? Ashley holds all the aces and has kept your club going. He has the ability to put you into Admin.

    statement:

Supporters have requested an update on the Club’s relationship with Sports Direct which is one of the key issues that I promised to deal with prior to, and after, being elected to the board of Rangers International Football Club.

It is widely known that Sports Direct applied to court for an injunction to prevent myself and my fellow directors from disclosing certain details of the agreements between the Club and the Sports Direct group, including the existence or detail of any meetings between the parties.

The gagging order prevents me from disclosing the details of our contractual relationship it does not prevent me from updating supporters on the status of the general relationship with Sports Direct.

Sports Direct continues to litigate with the Club in an attempt to enforce its wishes and demands. This seems based on the simple logic that Sports Direct can outspend the Club in legal fees and thereby deal with the Club as it pleases. I assure supporters that the Club will not be cowed by this threat and the recent lack of communication (as a result of the gagging order) belies the level of robustness with which the Club’s interest has been and will be protected.

Furthermore, I have sent letters to Sports Direct in my capacity as a director of Rangers Retail Limited taking them to task for poor business practices and corporate governance failures. The Club believed that it was entering into a joint venture with a large public company that would behave as a partner should and would conduct its business affairs in an appropriate fashion.

In my 40 years of business, I cannot recollect having dealt with a public company that is run more like a wholly owned family business and appears unconcerned with other stakeholders – partners or otherwise. It remains my intention to ensure that Sports Direct is legally and financially held accountable for its failures.

I should say he didn't actually do anything for

Nonsense Ashley had done nothing for the club since his cronies were ousted. I really think you need to find a new source Bobby.
I should say he didn't actually do anything proor to that either.

Nothing since? Maybe, other than not calling in his loans and sinking your club.
And before his cronies were ousted he was solely responsible for keeping your heads (barely) above water.

That's a statement from Rangers that I posted.

I'm not saying Ashley is good but he's the guy that's kept you alive.

King on the other hand had promised £30m and delivered not a cent. To me it sounds like King is preparing you guys for bad news and trying to deflect the blame in advance to Ashley.

Again you say King hasn't delivered why the hell should he put 30M into s club bank account when it's well known there's still lots to be sorted from before he and the others took over. Ashley is scum this pish he kept us alive is also revisionism as in the cases where his known wax accepted the board (his Dogsbodys) turned down money from other sources that weird far more favourable to the club.
As for his statement I am well aware where it came from I had read and digested it before you posted IMO and many others King is basically saying don't buy from SD and the club won't be steamrollered and bullied

Tosh read my reply to Bobby
It amazes me you are all so quick to say we believe anything we are told. Oh the irony

There is ONE lam outstanding it has to deadline for paying back and was interest free. He cannot legally call it in unless the contract is broken it hasn't been. You have to wonder why a loan was given on those terms. Also you have to wonder why his Dogsbodys in the final hours they had control tried to push through the second 5m loan which was not wanted thankfully they failed I will reiterate what I said to Bobby you need to look elsewhere for your"news"

    Because he said he'd invest £30m - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/11622446/Dave-King-Ill-invest-20m-in-Rangers.html

Why aren't you holding King to account for his lies? He's a convicted crook and fraudster who was called a 'glib and shameless liar' by a South African judge but you guys are lapping him up as a saviour when he's lying through his teeth to you about how much money he's going to invest.

His bank account is as empty as his promises.

Regardless of what he said or has in his bank account, you have to admit since the mess began, since he has got involved it is the first time the club has moved forward.

They have assembled a reasonable squad with a modest enough spend and hired a very good manager. Like or dislike Rangers there is no denying on the outside looking in the club seems to be going in the right direction.

Is it that time again ? I mean, the bankruptcy proclaimed for October seems to have passed without much noise, do we have to wait until November now ?

Rangers fans keep redrawing the line in the sand when it comes to expectations and the waffle spouted by the owners, ye are a soft touch tbh. Ye have been subdued by the team doing well on the field but that you lot performing to expectations for the players at your disposal.

So King is saving his warchest for the SPFL...or is he saving his money full stop?

When the club gets to the top flight and all the revenue streams get a boost from confident fans/investors etc, he'll spend more, of course he will but he wont be spending much money out of his own pocket, certainly not the numbers he used to get the gig. That should be as obvious as the nose on your face.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

    Is that bad ?

I mean, we always hear from you lot how we deserved it for overspending money that wasn't there. And now we should spend as much as possible ?

Talk about 'redrawing the line in the sand' :)

But hey, if it gives you a stick to beat Rangers with I'm sure you won't mind.

Deal with it: We won't be going bankrupt. It will take some time but we'll be alright.

Oh, am I off your ignore list?

He promises to invest from his own pocket but instead waits for consumer confidence to come back and milk them instead of doing what he promised to do. No its not bad at all, I'm glad that you are happy with getting the one over on me, I'm devastated here! :pac:

Also, I never claimed Rangers would go bankrupt.

Can you go a day without the Baghdad Bob routine?? Its embarrassing to see someone to continually defend things that shouldnt be defended. You are the type of fan that King is counting on!

For commenting on utter crap I'm willing to make an exception in responding to you. After all, it doesn't tend to take much time out of my busy, busy schedule ;)

I know it can be hard to keep up (especially if you're focusing on Rangers while your own team is playing, in case you missed that), but at least give it a go once in a while.

There has been absolutely nothing to show that King is lying or whatever, only in your weird little mind do these things happen.

You most likely know exactly what King said regarding investment, but for your pleasure I'll repeat it again (try to read it slowly).

    http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/583126/Rangers-chairman-Dave-King-to-give-new-manager-a-king-s-ransom-to-invest
Former Brentford boss Mark Warburton remains the favourite to replace Stuart McCall – and King vowed to give him the backing he needs, stressing that no limit has been placed on that war chest.

“I’m telling you there isn’t one – the limit is getting players,” he said. “There’s no upper limit. I can say that because we’re talking in a sensible environment where the guy knows what he’s doing.

“He’s not going to go and sign Cristiano Ronaldo, we all understand that. He’s doing it within a mandate where he knows what we are as a football team.

“I’m saying there’s no limit in terms of if he comes along and says, ‘I’ve got a guy here and I think I can get him, he’s going to cost x thousand pounds a week and he’s not in the budget, but I think he’d make a difference to the club and help us over the next couple of years’ then I’d say, ‘Take him’.

“We’re not going to say, ‘No, you’ve already spent your money’.

“If a good player comes up and we’re coming to December and leading the league by 15 points, and he says, ‘This player’s come up, we can get him now but we won’t be able to get him in the summer’– I’ll say, ‘Get him now’.

“It depends on the players he wants and it depends on whether the manager wants them all in the first transfer window. He might not.

“We will just work with the manager. We are saying to the manager, ‘You will have support over a period of three years’.

“He can take the full amount and spend it up front and, if the players are identified and fitted in, we’d give him the money. We could do that.”

Warburton has proven that he doesn't need much money to build a strong squad, why would King pump in a lot of money then ?

Also, do you see that little part where he talks about a three year period ?

The only one looking like 'Baghdad Bob' seems to be you with your constant claim that we're 'with our heads in the sand'. But you don't seem to be able to tell us exactly what it is that we're not seeing.

Because it sure as hell isn't bankruptcy or insolvency.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

I'm capable of doing several things at once. Knowing how to type means I can write messages without looking at the keyboard. This takes alot less time to do than you think!

You say its all part of Kings plan but he claimed he'd be injecting the money but its sizing up to be fans and investors again. The empirical evidence doesnt back up that nice piece of fluff you posted or the promises made when he was trying to get control of the club, does it? Care to quote him from that period of time?? Of course not, typical you though.

We'll see next season where the majority of the money for investment comes from and once again, you'll be eating your hat like you normally do.

Warburton is only doing what any manager worth their salt should be doing. I think McCoist has skewed expectations and you actually think he's doing better than expected!! We'll see if the purse strings actually open when Warburton struggles in the top flight. You seem very happy with all the talk King is doing and a manager meeting minimum expectation, good for you!

So what it comes down to is that you have no evidence or anything else to back up your ideas, but it's your gut feeling he's lying to us.

Excuse me if I don't have much faith in that.

But that must just be me with my head in the sand. Again. When will I learn.
