Shimano Sora (triple) front derailleur

Just got a new road bike from CRC :D

It has Shimamo Sora triple on the front, 9 speed at the back. Coming from Claris (which worked flawlessly for me) I find the shifting very clunky and not indexed properly. I think there are 5 or 6 gear selections on the front, and shifting up seems to be going just ok...not great, and shifting down specially to the smallest ring was almost impossible, also going from the big ring to the middle one wasnt easy... sometimes the lightest push of the shifter sent it back down to the little ring directly from the top.

Anyone know what's up? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like it just needs a good setting up.Sora I find is a better shifting group set than Claris. If you cant do it yourself then drop it into the LBS.

Sounds like it's not indexed properly - I run Sora Triple on my commuter and no issues.

If set up properly it has 3 distinct gears, you can also trim with a half push - sometimes needed in the middle ring in particular
