Dont you mean just under 6 euro :p

Didnt want the game but im now the proud owner :)

So back to my other question, RAGE Or Angels Fall First?

Both have been recommended on Boards recently but i did see a lot of good being spoke of Angels Fall First

    rage is fun
it's not great, it's not brilliant, it's not life changing, it can be kind of annoying.. but it sure is fun

of all the modern shooters it's the one I felt captured the essence of the golden era of 90's fps best. the weakest bits were the more modern rpg sort of elements that seemed kind of shoehorned in. my main complaint is that it's too easy, it really is pretty damn easy but it is also fun

    rage is fun.

Sleeping Dogs is fun and worth playing but I felt there wasn't enough polish to the combat system which was the best thing about it. Making it open world was completely unnessecary and drained their budget which could've been used for the fighting.

I played a little bit of RAGE and thought it was garbage. Angels Fall First looks really damn good and I want it so much, most of my friends have bought it but what turned me off was that none of them were actually playing it as shown by their steam profiles. Nobody had over an hour and a half of gametime which is odd for this type of FPS since it seems like a timesink similar to Planetside 2. The cons the reviews point out is bad UI and rough around the edges which is to be expected. In the end I decided I'll wait until it's finished because it only had a daily player count of around 100 and complaints about lag. As a player of Rise of Incarnates I've had enough of not enough players and lag

Hope it's as good as I imagine it will be on full release. Maybe there'll be another sale or perhaps a key seller will have it a bit cheaper by that point too.

Sitting here, minding my own business watching a movie (Dogtooth, quite strange) and i went to take my headset off. I hear a crack and the left ear piece falls off! Had a bit of a mess around with it, its defo broken but i managed to jam it back into place and if i don't move much, the headset stays on.

So im watching the movie again and something is telling me to get the headset box down from behind me, its a turtle beach z 60. W[hen i open the box the receipt from when i bought it falls out and lo and behold, it was exactly one year ago to the day with 20 minutes to spare that i bought them!

Quick mail to Turtle Beach to tell them my problem. Hopefully they will cover it as the mail was sent while they were still under warranty. Really dont want to have to spend 150 euro on a new headset :(

You're in EU, there's normally a statutory 2 yr warranty isnt there? Either way, companies are usually pretty good about stuff. Logitech has given me 3 different replacements before, 2 of which were based off the same original purchase, so I've had 3 pairs of G930 for the price of one - the latter shocked me because right around the end of its warranty life (way out of the original pair's warranty) I inquired about buying new pads for them, even explained when the original purchase was - and they just sent me an rma label.

My Bose QC20i lasted a year before falling apart, wire tearing and anodizing on the jack. It was out of warranty by not much, and originally they wanted $130 to swap them for QC20i gen 2's, which as far as I could see were a different color (woo?) I told them that was silly, and they seemed to be firm about that until I wrote an honest review on their website to the effect of the earbuds were amazing but offering to swap a $300 of earbuds (with only a 1 year warranty) that was barely out of warranty for $130 was unbecoming of bose, compared to what other brands are doing support wise (Logi's warranties are regularly multi-year). Got an email with a shipping label 2 days later and a renewed 2 year warranty. I'd be more impressed, but I expected a company like Bose to be that way on the norm.

What went wrong with the 930s? (I have a pair, just in case I need to keep an eye on anything)

Yeah i know Turtle Beach seem to have quite an honest returns policy but:

    1) The warranty says one year on the label
    2) I never registered the product
    3) It was on the last day of the warranty(i know this sounds suspect but why would i break them not knowing if i would actually get a replacement pair)
    4) Because it wasn't a mechanical failure, could they argue that it was my fault they broke.

Now i will say, they are a fairly decent pair for the price, this issue although probably a big enough deal in terms of headsets is the only one i have had. Bought them from gamestop after bringing back 2 other pairs of headsets, both trittons!

They're cheaply made headphones with a high markup, you broke them but they are cheaply made so hopefully turtlebeach just replace them as the decent thing to do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,947 ✭✭✭Taylor365

Yea. I'd never buy TurtleBeach again with the faults I've had with their headphones. (1 cracked, the other mic wire disintegrated somehow)

Sennheiser are the only headphones I would pay decent money for.

Never a fan of 100 quid plus headsets.

If I have any more driver-related crashes with this new GPU I might lose my mind. I have a 700W PSU theres no need for this! Is 5 years old but can't imagine that being a big issue?

Just some wear and tear, being rough with the mic boom (slamming it down often basically) caused it to shear along a join; the 2nd was only 2-3 years of foam padding abuse starting to show signs of wear.

For anyone interested, update on Firewatch.

Just received an email from the developers, it will be released on all platforms on the 9th of February.

I will start a thread with links etc when I get home but good news so far! It's been in production 2 years so far.

bought Cod4 there at the weekend. Surprised it's actually still very populated. A lot of fun too, and chaos. Well worth the €12 I spent :D although the €12 was taken from my fund for a 970 upgrade and a new 550W PSU :pac:

That's good of them to sort you out on the second case for something that was general wear and tear especially as it's not even a very expensive item.

It depends on the game really, but for the most part games made in the last few years will work no problem with the resolution that is offered by the ultra wide monitors.

I have used them in the past but mostly for work (Super nice having the extra screen real estate when you are coding and reading stack overflow at the same time :P)

I would like one myself to be honest and will probably go that way eventually.

They're nerfing Imperials based on battlefront beta data. For the Walker Assault map anyway.

I just hope the balancing effort is really more about offering the rebels more anti-vehicle options, a lot of times AT-STs get a run of the battlefield somewhat unfairly. Ion grenades are great but few carry them, and smart rocket drops are rare. Every time you go to shoot one on a turret, theres always smoke or some other bull**** in the way too. There's also the fact that the spawn points are needlessly mean, spawning you way in the back of the tunnel complex while the AT-ATs are exposed to weapons fire.

Saw some very sad news there that Total Biscuit's cancer has returned in the form of likely inoperable tumours appearing on his liver.

    AHhhhhhhhhhhhhh Feck.

I did not always agree with his view on the gaming industry or games in general but I did always admire how he never held any punches and stuck to his guns. He once in a while made some very good points about the industry though that made me open my mind and think about things.

I really wish him the best in what is to come, it is not going to be easy for him and if the cancer has reached his liver then it has metastasized and all there really is from here is to make the best of the time you have left because unfortunately there will not be a lot of it in 99% of cases. He mentions the edge cases in his post and it's true but it is super rare. Not trying to be a downer but there is no point in beating about the bush.

I really am sad right now. Feck it anyway.

^ been thinking about a new mat myself. I have this cheap 1$ custom one, but kinda want to upgrade to something better at the moment. Also really toying with the idea of getting a mech keyboard again but don't want to spend more than 100.
