Joule creep regulations?

Hey guys, ive had my airsoft guns for quite a while now and im thinking of getting involved in skirmishes. However, there is one thing i curious about and is: Do airsoft sites just check fps or do they base it simply on joules? Ideally, i would like to use 0.28g/0.30g bb's (speaking of which, please voice opinions on best…

Hey guys, ive had my airsoft guns for quite a while now and im thinking of getting involved in skirmishes. However, there is one thing i curious about and is:

Ideally, i would like to use 0.28g/0.30g bb's (speaking of which, please voice opinions on best weight for sniping) but id rather my fps not go below 310.

The limit is 1 joule for a .20 gram bb which equates to 328 FPS.

So if you use heavier bbs:

1 joule : .28 gram : 278 FPS
1 joule : .30 gram : 268 FPS

You will have to tell them what weight bb you are using so they can configure the chronograph. I would be fairly confident that all sites would test by the energy (joule) of your airsoft gun.
