Microsoft word table of contents, diagrams etc.

    Hi there,

    I am about to undertake post grad studies which will involve 5,000 word essay x 8 and a 50,000 dissertation.

    It has been painful in the past with previous studies managing a table of contents matching up to page numbers which constantly change due to editing etc. Diagrams and tables are another pain, again with page numbers changing and the label given to the particular diagram or table. Maybe

    My question.
    Is there a way to manage Microsoft Word to dynamically keep track of these aspects of a document?
