    Hey all,

I'm a former unemployed student and, having failed a lot of modules in my last semester, I'm basically out of college and/or looking for work. I am searching but it seems right now that there's NOTHING.

I didn't do particularly well in my last semester on my own accord, along with the fact that I sustained a leg injury so my attendance basically decreased. I have:

    -no experience in work
-a Leaving Certificate with only a couple A1's in honors
-and, like, a few skills such as a typing speed of 100wpm and a high reading speed/comprehension rate

I'd do anything if I could - a course, a job, whatever. It's become a real nuisance as I've been under increasing pressure to pay rent and other ****. If anyone's interest is slightly intrigued with my dilemma, does anyone have any advice that'd be of any good? Would really appreciate it. I'm not sure what sort of work I'm looking for or what I can do. Sorry if this has wasted your time or if it seems helpless - I f***ed up and I'm probably paying for it.

Moved to Work & Jobs from the wasteland that is the East forum.

The good folk here may be better able to advise you.

Have you tried a temping agency? I have a friend who often picks up reception/data entry work this way. She's in Dublin though so it may not be as easy elsewhere.

Sorry this is late, but...how could I get a job in one of those? I'm very young; nineteen years young. I've got **** all experience and no qualifications asides from a Leaving Cert but, yeah, I do have the typing skills there. I'm not sure how I'd be able to apply. I've forgotten a few MS Word skills, too...but is there any way around this? How do I do it?

You wouldn't be working for the agency, they would be finding you short term work (for part of your wage).
I've never used an agency myself but just by doing a google search for temp agency I found several different ones. You could contact them directly yourself. It's worth a try anyway
