Any other info on this? Currently in Shannon and really hoping my landing isn't delayed due to some scumbag.

Doubtful, I've only ever heard pilots phoning it in to ATC no go arounds and the like. You will almost certainly have no delay due to that.

Thanks all, small consolation I guess!

Very rare that go-arounds happen due to this as posted above.

Were you on one of the diverted Ryanair flights? Are you getting much info? Are you on the aircraft or in the airport?

Diverted Ryanair flight. Would prefer not to say which one but on the aircraft currently. Last info update was about 20 minutes ago to tell us we were refuelling and waiting for more info on when we could return to Dublin.

I'm on FR119, we were told 25 mins to departure about 20 mins ago, but otherwise there's more information on this thread than there is on the plane.

Got to credit Ryanair though, at least they opened the front door and have the AC on... I was on an AA flight on the ground at Dallas for 4 hours once and we all nearly melted.

Shannon airport page has all these flights departing from 23:20-23:45 so not much help there.
Several arrivals into DUB still, majority charters from Cardiff and Bristol. Diversion from LPL also inbound.
I assume once this quietens a bit (Give it 30mins) ye will start arriving back.

What code is used for the expected approach time. ATC just gave a pilot an expected approach time of 2323.

How do you mean code ? It's time based. He got 2323 next aircraft gets 2326/7 next aircraft 2330/1.

Realised this a few mins ago. Pretty sure I heard eg 3320 a few times but obviously a mistake. Time is UTC based

I was on the Ryanair from Glasgow that was in the hold for 20 minutes. Looked like the fig was very localised. Happy we did not divert

Yep, kept rolling in and out from DUB.
Was foggy here in clare an hour ago, gone now.
Think its to get a little more persistent for the next few hours, may stay above limits though.

Ah yeah that must be it. Pilot sounded regretful of the fact!

Shamrock on ground radar at ORK, EI49T from Faro diverted from DUB.

Also nearing Dublin is STK403P from Shannon, back from a rugby charter from Cardiff-Shannon.

Is there anyone still left at Cork, Carnacalla?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,488 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Nope, EIN58R off a few mins ago and that was the last of the 2 diversions. There's 4 left at Shannon, and by the sound of it at least one of them is overnighting.

FR145 off from Shannon, that leaves 3.

FR8036 is the cancelled flight. The last to divert to Shannon and its from Cologne.

I can't see it on the radar, but a dark coloured Squirrel helicopter just flew east over Ballymount at an extremely low altitude. I thought it had taken off nearby, but it continued to fly low. Possibly survey works?

Is there many from here that host for fr24?

I'm thinking of setting up a feed myself, I live close to midlands and I noticed that fr24 rarely picks up aircraft that are below 5000ft +/-

Around Dublin coverage is much better, especially along the cost with no refraction.

I can install an antenna to my work premises 24/7 on a 10ft mast no prob, so I take it this would help alot.

    cheers

Not a host myself but on there facebook page fr24 always mention to register if your interested in hosting.

They keep records on file if there is users already close to your location, and if other user/s discontinue there hosting,They will be onto you then.

No harm is showing your interest to them regardless and see what comes of it.

I host near Shannon. It took a few months to get going from the time I registered but it's fairy simple. You just have to provide them with lat/long coordinates and pictures of where the antenna will go basically. Antenna arrives in the post and you install, plug in and away it goes.
