That hyperbole is not pronounced "hyper-bowl".

No idea how it is pronounced yet. Will Google it when my hangover leaves me be.
    Your kidding right??

You're not really in a position to mock when you can't tell the difference between "you're" and "your". :)

Reading some of these "facts" I have just realised that many still have no idea how to do a simple search on the internet.

cyclist rolling up one leg of their trousers. Always thought it was a gangsta related thing but only recently realised it was because the chain of bike is on that side.

I thought the "you're kidding right?" was because the poster also did not know how to say hyperbole lol

Not sure how 'obvious' it is... but was just listening to a radio talk show regarding a race issue.

Someone text in to say 'please tell the guy speaking not to use the term 'coloured'. It's offensive. Please just use black or brown'.

Honestly never realised this, and thought it was an ok term. Googled it and found a few articles explaining why it's apparently a 'highly offensive racial slur'.

Don't think it's a term I've been using, but glad to know this now all the same.

NEWS being an acronym for North, East, West & South.

Information from all points of the compass, not sure how much truth is behind it but I'd like to believe it..

That's a myth I'm afraid. It's basically the plural form of "new," as in "new information," but of course the word "new" is not a noun in modern English.

It's clear when you compare it French: the French for "new" is "nouveau" (masc.) or "nouvelle" (fem.) and the French for "news" is "nouvelles."

That vast swathes of the population don't realise the past participle of "text" as a verb is "texted".

I'd say some are like me, know that the past particle is 'texted', but not really care, as 'text' is in more common everyday use, and I just find it easier.

Just like the past participle of ''input'' should be ''input'', not ''inputted''.

    Input = in-put = put in, ffs.

I always thought growing up that Jerry was the cat and Tom was the mouse. :o

    That DDoS attacks exist..

Had never heard of them until I read the thread in Feedback mentioning them, as I've mainly been using the Internet for watching YouTube videos and hardcore pornography thus far. However, today I have educated myself on these attacks a little and was just reading that two chaps in the UK were jailed back in 2013 for a Distributed Denial of Service (oh yes, I have even discovered what the acronym means) on PayPal and Visa costing them millions. Another chap was jailed for DDoS on the Cambridge and Oxford university websites and he had previously been jailed for disguising malware as a game hack.

What motivates these people. Seems like a kind of mindless online vandalism, mostly.

I wouldn't call it really obvious though :P I'd no clue until I read it on the feedback forum either, and I'd imagine most wouldn't unless they were techy.

When people say the computer needs to boot up its from the saying "pull yourself up by the boot straps". Its means you do something by yourself i.e the computer is starting up by itself.

Yeah having not seen it in decades it was on with the toddler and wife watching it over the weekend. I told my my wife I could never remember which was which. Felt particularly thick when she explained it.

Ireland is crap at sport. If there was a gaelic football world cup we'd get knocked out in the quarter finals.

Not sure how obvious this is..

I have been aware for a fairly long time (probably since 'Early Edition') that Fisher Stevens played Ben Jabituya in Short Circuit.

But what is after really surprising me, is how young he looks when he played him.. I didn't recognise him at all..
    Youtube Video

I always remember him being 'old'... :(
