Help with form IT38

    I wonder can anyone help me with completing the "assesment of capital aquisitions tax" part of this form? Im lost at the part E onwards. Situation is I received a gift of €150,000 from a parent & want to declare it. First time gift. Can anyone help? Many thanks

    You've had this asked and answered in your identical thread over on Askaboutmoney...

    Short answer, if you've never received a gift from a parent before then 150k is less than 80% of 225k so you're under no obligation to file.

    Actually I didnt get an answer to that question on askaboutmoney so posted here. Is it against the law to ask on 2 different forums? You have little to be worrying about if this bothers you! Anyway lucky enough I got speaking to a nice guy in revenue this morning who answered all my questions so job done.
