ASU officer dublin airport Question

Hi all,

I got an interview for asu officer in Dublin Airport, on the application it states that the pay is 26,000EUR a year but then goes on and says,

''These roles are reduced hours, but required the full availability to ramp up to full time hours.''

Can somebody explain this to me? Is this full time? Or part time?

If anybody here is working there or has worked there can they tell me what the hours are like?

So, my brother works in that position, and his hours seem to be a bit all over the shop. Its like they're hedging their bets in telling him he'll only be doing a certain number of hours, but I think then he generally gets a lot more than that. I think he's effectively working full time.

You can also be put on night shift for long periods so be aware of that.

Thanks for the reply, do you know if he's getting alot of hours or not? I don't mind doing night shifts (I like them, and do them in my current job)

I asked him earlier, he does 4 days at the moment but he said he's well able to get more shifts if he wants. His contract says something like min of 18 hours a week but there seems to be no chance of only doing 18 hours a week currently. The night shift is 4am - 1pm btw.

That's worse than a normal night shift. Sounds absolutely horrible tbh, especially if they are consecutive.

& @Fox Lively Bulb you're saying that he can ask for more shifts if he likes and would get them? how long is he working there? is he enjoying it?

I'm not really sure exactly what that means tbh. It seems he has no problem getting more shifts.

I'm terms of work he's getting on fine. I think generally he's extremely busy so makes the time pass, says the people he works with are fine too. Overall it seems a decent job.
