    Hi,

Was just curious can akaline & lithium AA or C size batterys be recycled for cash.

Im aware of money being given for lead acid batteries but is there any value in the above or is it best just to throw them into the WEEE recycling boxes?

    Any info would be great!

Lead acid batterys are Heavy. Like really heavy. And lead is very easy to recycle.

To get the same amount from AA's you'd need a bucket full. Sorted too according to chemistry. Not as valuable or as easy to recycle as lead.

In theory you can recharge alkalines a number of times by using AC with something like 10:1 forward to reverse current. It depolarises or something. Nowhere the number of recycles of proper NiMH though. And you have to recharge before they drain too much. And you have to know what you are doing in case of gas build up by boiling or hydrolysis which can cause an unvented call to go BANG! with the shrapnel and stuff.

Ye was thinking this was the answer to be honest, think I'll just gather them up and put them in the WEEE boxes.

    Thanks
