Im sure players signing for the club will care though or should i say players who the club wants to sign.

LVG while he appeals i am sure to many players, wouldnt exactly be the top of the list for several players after the Valdes incident no matter who is right or wrong.

Managers burn players out all the time. It happens at every club every season. It's nornal footvalling stuff. In this instance, a player was given a contract at one of the biggest clubs in the world when he was in the footballing wilderness. My heart bleeds for him.

SAF could be fearsome, but did he ever freeze out a player like this? Keane was effectively sacked when their relationship broke down but he knew it was coming... Stam was sold...

Valdes was sold, then it fell through. Has Ferguson ever had this exact situation?

Would I be correct in saying that if moyes replacement was between Klopp and LVG last year, majority of people would have picked Klopp?

It's very rare I'm envious of anything related to Liverpool but them getting Klopp could be huge for them.

There is burning a player out, and then there is treating a professional like a pariah.

We don't need to look far for players who Van Gaal simply didn't rate, Rafael and Nani for instance, but we didn't hear about Rafael being told to train at different times of the day to isolate him from the squad, we didn't see them banned from the team photo.

That crap is nothing but petty vindictiveness and it doesn't reflect well on the club at all.

At least Bastian's injury is just a muscle problem, won't complain he will be getting a rest, once he is ready for Everton.

No I preferred lvg. I think Klopp is highly over rated. He did a good job at Dortmund no doubt, but it was in a league where the only challenger to the title is bayern. People talk of Klopp as world class, that's yet to be seen. Personally I don't see him lasting more than a couple of seasons at Liverpool but I could be wrong. Im glad they didn't get ancellotti, think he would have been more successful for them

I don't know, but we were all pretty excited at how LVG got that Dutch team to the WC semi finals.
Plus the tactical changes like taking off Cillesen for Krul in the penalty shoot out.

Hey that is not the PC thing to say :p
His only other club - Mainz and he won nothing, Dortmund have been one of the better teams in the Bundesliga, to the point they won the CL in 1997.

Totally agree with this - if it happened in any other workplace it would be bullying tbh.

Its not that he simply doesn't rate Valdes though. You know that.

Acid test for him in the Premier League. I hope it doesn't work out for him but I realistically I think he'll do a good job, hopefully they won't win the league at least.

Honestly, I think if he does well, someone like Real or Bayern or someone bigger will come calling. I don't think he'll be round long enough to actually get a title trophy, in that to compete with the top 4, financially, you need to hit 4 or 5 absolutely stunning windows.

I was hoping that Klopp would manage Utd at some stage but that's never going to happen now. I think he'll do well at Liverpool and was very surprised they managed to get him. Always liked him and the football he plays, shame we'll never see him at Utd.

Seriously hope the Schweinsteiger injury is very mild. Utd have some tough games coming up and given our small squad, a few injuries could really hurt.

It will hopefully take him a year to get things on track for them, if we haven't pulled away from them by then we only have ourselves to blame

If anything this should motivate Van Gaal more, a new philosopher in the league can't show him up

Talk that Aguero has torn his hamstring on international duty. Major blow for them, but going to be a massive help in a title challenge for everyone else...

Carlo or klopp is not doing to Liverpool.
    Absolute downward move for them.

I will close my account if that happens.

    You still here?

Some good news coming out of last nights internationals, looks like Aguero did his hamstring so a good chance he misses the derby

So Pep mightn't be as keen on City as they are on him.......

In Munich, they hope that the fact that Guardiola's family is very settled in the city might yet convince the Catalan to stick around a bit longer. There are also whispers that he'd personally prefer to coach in London or at Old Trafford rather than at Manchester City.

Could he be the heir to Louis Van Gaal for a third time after the Dutchman retires in 2017? That time frame would certainly suit Bayern, but they're not naive enough to live in hope. CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said that "life will go on" without Guardiola during their tour of China in the summer, and strangely, the manager reacted angrily to that platitude and made no attempt to hide his annoyance.

Why he got upset isn't entirely clear. If you were about to break up with your partner, wouldn't you be secretly relieved that he or she was ready to move on? More than two years into his stay in Bavaria, the locals still struggle to fully understand what makes him tick. Whereas the culture of the club is all about open and frank discussions, Guardiola often uses confidants and advisers to speak on his behalf.

Was only a matter of time for him though, as unfortunate as it is the guy is just so injury prone.

Remember that insane Antonio Valencia sprint speed against Liverpool to assist a goal?

Well he's only gone and done it again against Argentina.

Once every couple of years is a decent stat. He's normally terrified of open spaces these days.

Klopps gonna be epic for the soundbites if nothing else. 'World renowned stadium' . 45k with poles blocking the view. Kinda like Thurles only Thurles can hold more people

Or maybe we are not countering teams anymore because our possession football means teams camp in their own halfs and try hit us on the break instead.

It shows Valencia would still have a lot of power to offer given the right set-up.

    Another angle of the goal.

    Also, Martial's assist against Armenia

    Touch of class from Martial

Also great to see Valencia actually finding his man in the box with a pass/cross :D

I was actually shocked that he didn't stop dead with the ball once he reached the box.
