Never before has a typo changed the entire tone of the thread so much.

And never before has a verb been so mistaken for a noun/adj ;)

I can't believe people don't know who Lugs Brannigan was.

(I just looked him up.) I don't know Gardaí in my own town. Why would people know a Garda from somewhere else (and who died nearly 30 years ago).

I think we should have tigers as garda. Stitch them little tiger garda uniforms, and make them little peak garda caps with an elastic chin strap.

Protesters causing disruption? Release the tigers!

Junkies hanging around? Release the tigers!

Teenagers being teenagers? Release the tigers!

Tiger escaped from Dublin zoo? Release the tigers!

Hi what do you think I think the guards uniform should be all black like the luas security Garda themselves should be beefed up skinheads. They need a better riot squad with water cannon and tear gas would the Spanish police would have the water meter protests cleared and gone in 5 minutes don't see why it can't be the same in Ireland. They should be armed aswell I may sound a bit brutal but face would there be any trouble making junkies and teenager if they got the end of a truncheon I doubt it.

You should probably read up on what Garda Síochána means.

Witnessed two Guards lose their cool a few weeks ago. Excessive force, the works. Split a blokes head right open. One of them just totally lost the plot and when another guy standing by seeing it all unfold tried to intervene, the Guard started squaring up shoving him and threatening to box the head of him (he was a little fart of a Guard and would have got hopped around).

There has been a few incidents where I live and to be honest the Guards could do with being a little more street wise and knowing how to defuse situations. Seen way too many incidents in the last while where they seem to spark the situation of into a massively negative and violent situation.

Fifteen years in my area and there is way too many power tripping, hotheaded Guards from the country not dealing with situations well at all. It's no co incidence that the best ones dealing with situations in my experience are the much older Guards, normally Sergeants, that just know how to speak to people and sort things out properly. something is being drastically lost in training Guards. It's become ridiculously noticable in the last few years
