Job in a sector while doing repeat year.

So after a tough year on erasmus, i failed.

I am planning on repeating externally which doesnt seem too difficult.
This leaves me in a "great" position. (Ideally i would have passed and continued onto final year) But the great position is i have a year to work full time, now instead of working a call center job or bar work I would love get experience in my particular desired sector.

Im kind of hoping to turn a bad situation into a better one and use my repeat year as a chance to gain some experience which will stand to me when i graduate. My problem is how would i look for one of these types of jobs?

Will a company/business take me on for the year?
I have trawled through jobs.ie but of course most jobs are degree essential or menial jobs IE(i wont learn much about my desired field there)

Any help or thoughts are much appreciated
