Klopp would probably man-manage Balotelli better then BR did.

    He's not a miracle worker!

Way to completely, completely ignore the point.

Rodgers didn't get the best out of the players he had. All of the names you mentioned have played better at other clubs under other managers. Doesn't matter how good or bad you think they are - they have all performed objectively better under other managers, therefore Rodgers didn't get the best out of them.

I addressed the point, you just didn't like the answer. The players you mentioned are crap in my opinion, and the position in the league was right in my opinion. I'm not blinded by hero worshipping, I seen them play.

I've no interest in continuing this.

Not as much stock put in Paul Joyce in this thread? They have gone into meltdown over on rawk since his article like it is an iron clad done deal.

You can still get 1/4 on Klopp. Far from a done deal yet

The point of me asking was because I rank the league as priority, if he finishes 5th/6th for a few seasons in a row then IMO no amount of cup runs will save him.

This is a new slant for you. Rodgers could do no wrong at all. He was going to rescue his position at some point according to the unending narrative. Now 5th for a few seasons is a death knell.

On a side note : what happens if we don't get Klopp ?

His reign would be met with less trepidation by me because he's a proven winner.

He'd also get more leeway than Rodgers did because he's a proven winner.

It'd be an entirely different appointment to the Rodgers one.

The second sentence is hugely important here

We know his ceiling is awesomeness - this appointment will really unite any fans with a clue.

I said I believed he could turn it around, I never stated he WOULD.

Will he alienate certain players for no discernable reason?

Well this one is a yes.

It is for pretty much every manager.

It's easy to say "look at all this weird **** Rodgers does - I can't wait until he's replaced by someone who doesn't do that".

But they all do it. They've all got weird apparent blind spots.

Nobodie's perfect but, perhaps more importantly, we never have all the information about what's going on in the squad.

So it'll turn out that, despite the whole German thing and his apparent suitability in terms of quality and application, Firmino will get the boot next summer.

We'll go ape**** but we'll never know that he was actually a coke-head or used to boot cats down the road for the craic.

Patience will not be endless, but we'd know we have a proven winner, so he'd get a little more leeway.

Do you not think that's logical? You've stated the above a few times and it seems you don't.

What's that now win a European trophy with Chelsea like Rafa did :D

Unreal to be so close to getting a manager of this calibre again. This squad needs a manager like Klopp to get them going and imo hes got a good group to start off with. However its still only a pipe dream until we see the ultimate lean!

If we're in our 4th season under him and there's been no trophy and things are going steadily downhill, we should replace him.

However, unless he has a total meltdown he'll have 12-18 months to get the team ticking without decent fans wanting him out.

However, I predict you'll be all over him immediately if results aren't great coming out with **** like "well it was unacceptable for the likes of Llyod and Alan when Rodgers struggled so I'm only applying the same logic" ignoring totally 1) him being brand new to the club having a lot of work to clear out some of the dross and 2) him being a proven winner

Paul Joyce is pretty reliable. Unless a deal was very close I don't think he would be so bullish about it. But deals are never concluded until contracts are signed and delivered.

Nope, you didn't address it at all. The point is that many players weren't playing to their potential. How good or bad you think they are is irrelevant, that sample have been objectively worse under Rodgers than other managers. For this point it doesn't matter that their best still isn't good enough, when we haven't seen anything like their best. That's on the manager.

Lovren was a completely different player with Southampton. Lallana was a completely different player with Southampton. Balotelli was much better at every other club he's played at. Markovic was much more impressive with Benfica.

It's really not complicated - get the most out of your players and make them more than the sum of their parts...that clearly didn't happen.

<edit> I don't get the hero worshipping comment...who's getting hero worshipped?
